I just saw some clips of Dai Luwa in Qin Empire and she looks so BEAUTIFUL! I don't know what her character's storyline is going to be, but she has that "dainty beauty destined for a tragic ending" look and is absolutely ethereal. There's one Qin Empire clip in which the tears are swimming in her eyes, giving her that fragile, haunting look that reminds me a bit of her character, Bai Xi, in the latter half of Moonlight Mystique, when she's tortured by the knowledge of what she did to her family.

Dai Luwa won me over as her fan after her jaw-dropping performance as Fuling. After I heard rumors that she will star in Inferno of Wings, I binge read the English translation of Inferno of Wings. I liked the novel, and I cannot imagine (and refuse to accept anyone else) as the female lead, Ruyi. So I guess you could say I am first a Dai Luwa fan and second a novel fan.

Yes, I, too, hope that Now or Never and that drama she did with Li Yitong as the female lead will bring her a lot more fans and popularity. Maybe with more successful character portrayals, her agency will finally wake up from its stupor and start promoting her. However, I think she should start looking elsewhere for representation, if her contract is ending soon and if it's possible to switch agencies. Time is ticking and her youth and talent are being wasted with her current agency. Of course, I don't know what obstacles are involved in switching agencies, so maybe she IS doing all she can to help herself.

All big stars start out as "possible stars." I bet she doesn't have the right connections to wealthy investors, who will invest in a drama and ask for her to be the female lead. That's so frustrating. She's beautiful, she's talented, she seems like a nice, humorous person who's easy to work with, but she doesn't have rich, powerful connections. :(

Why doesn't her company want to promote her?

Usually, I would be excited about these melons. However, after my extreme anticipation with Inferno of Wings and crashing disappointment when the deal didn't go through, I am now more reserved and starting to lose hope that she will ever get any good leading roles. Who is her agency promoting, anyway? The agency is neglecting her and trying to sweep her underneath the rug. So who are the actors the company is promoting? I am really curious.

The plot sounds interesting and different than the typical girl meets overbearing guy, falls in love, they have misunderstanding, she leaves him, he goes chasing after her. However, I just wish she would have more back to back dramas, while her popularity is still fresh from her Fuling role.

I will be so angry if Wawa's company replaces her with someone else for Inferno of Wings. There are plenty of actresses who only have one breakout drama and then go on to star in multiple leading roles afterward. How come Wawa's company can't get her more leading roles after her Fuling breakout? Does anyone know how much longer her contract is with her current agency? Maybe she should leave and join a company that is more aggressive at getting her leading roles with good scripts. At this rate, she will be wasting her youth. In the Chinese entertainment industry, youth, especially for women, is highly important.

I can already imagine what she will look like - petite, classy, beautiful. Who is the male lead? Since this drama is only 3 episodes, it shouldn't take that long to film. By the way, although I think Wawa looks like a classical Han beauty in period costume, I think she would look stunning as a wealthy socialite in a modern drama.

Steamed Bun, did you see Wawa's Lantern Festival pictures? She looked absolutely stunning! I almost didn't recognize her. Usually, her photos have a very soft, romantic aura, but these pictures are more edgy and sophisticated. They reminded me of a Vogue photo shoot.

Yes, I hope her team is working hard on getting her good roles in well scripted dramas. I suppose it's better to wait for the opportunity to play a well-fleshed out role in a drama with good plot rather than appear in multiple dramas but have bad roles in incoherent storylines. However, I worry that she might lose momentum and people might forget about her Fuling if her projects are too sparse and far apart.

I've seen Wawa in some other princess style dresses that look beautiful on her. There was a purple princess gown she wore 1-2 years ago at some awards ceremony, in which she looked like a fairytale princess. The dress she wore to Weibo Night this year was just strange with those weird side cut-outs, and that dress made her look pregnant, for some reason. However, I agree with you that she ultimately looks better in slim-fitting, sexy style dresses.
Have you seen her Maldives vacation pictures online? She looks gorgeous with a great figure. There were comments online criticizing her weight after her Weibo Night appearance. I think those Maldives vacation pictures prove that she is NOT fat and is perfectly proportioned. I'm sure guys prefer a lady with some curves, rather than one with an emaciated figure. Good for Wawa for staying healthy instead of giving into ridiculous pressure to look like a stick with no chest and no hips!

That black dress she wore to iQIYI Scream Night with the criss cross back straps made her look so sexy, gorgeous, but also elegant. I think any actor hanging around her that night would have to concentrate really hard on keeping his eyes straight forward, or else risk being criticized for staring at her. I've also seen photos of her wearing a sea-green dress (at another event) that reminded me of ocean waves. She looked beautiful in that, too. Why can't she wear gowns like those? Who picks out her dresses for her? It must be different people, because the taste in gown styles are totally different.
