ep 12's 19:00 timestamp got me thinking, what if yeohwa discovered what was inside the sword as soon as she got it and solved the mysteries of her brother going missing right then? XD

except for that moment, the drama played out very nicely from start to finish, the plot is interesting enough, still i wouldn't say i'm a big fan of treasonous villains for the central driving force of the plot. i'd much prefer if there was no grand scheme going on, and more on FL enjoying the vigilante life and the angsty but flaming romance with a young officer. anyways, the little romance the leads had was something i'd revisit from time to time. loved these two! (officer park is such an eye-candy, geez)

From my understanding, probably just an ignorant mistake from left state councillor's part. He's a devil, sure. but he seems like a person who would do harm to others only when they appear to be his threat, which in this case, Yeohwa was not. Having someone by his wife's side to keep her busy would also be another benefit.
(In his POV, Yeohwa acts like every other naive, well-behaved daughter-in-law that'd never possibly pose any harm to him; hence his bewilderment seeing her enter the royal meeting). Had Yeohwa truly been a well-behaved Joseon woman and never came out on her nightly adventures, the story would have unfolded very differently— most likely on LSC's favor.)

to avid romance cdrama watchers, is this one of the best cdramas of its genre to you? please do recommend me some of your favs! personally, i'd love a romance where the tension is high, the skinships don't have to be abundance but every intimate scene should have a certain impact, and the more angst, the better :D

1. took me quite a while but i did end up warming up to these two and their love story at about episode 19 onwards. they prove to have the most ideally healthy relationship possible for a couple of such circumstances.
2. i walked out of the show with biggest love to sang zhi's brother! he'd make such an interesting love interest haha.
3. the biggest issue i had with this show was the pacing, though it was most likely due to the simplicity of the plot and my lack of interest in the characters and the scenarios given. had i not watched it at 1.5 or 2.0 speed, i probably would have given up on it.

at this rate i wont even ask for a kiss, just a hint that they will get together at the end will be more than enough to make me happy! there's still 3 episodes left until the finale, but the past 9 episodes gave enough materials to resemble my most ideal romance dynamics. definitely one of those i would revisit for the romance!

1. yeonjun doesn't deserve eunae.
2. the plot armor for gilchae to stay alive during her capture in shimyang was quite illogical based on the circumstances.
3. why did the king's concubine need gilchae's help and what did the whole burying that little knife have to do with anything?
4. too many tragedies it feels frustrating and depressing most of the time.
5. they could do much better without the amnesias plot device.
6. very heavy 'gone with the wind' influences in regards to the main characters but i like the differences as their characters grow towards the end.
7. despite the many unnecessary miscommunications, the couple's love for each other is admirable. i'd definitely watch their scenes again in the future for a rewatch.

a few people on reddit recommended for the supposed leads with sexual tension but honestly, i beg to differ. the relationship felt very one-sided. if ml didn't make the moves he did to approach fl, there would be nothing between them at all— though i do admit that fl does show signs of mutual attraction, but at the end of the day, this show was not about the romance, and i watched this show with the intention to get a good romance, but it only delivered what i wanted in the first ep, and the rest was your typical kdrama political/ law plotlines.
