Likewise to one of the comments already, I can see that the ML is finally going to have some character development if there were to be a season 2, which is great cause he was a doormat for the whole season. The only thing I want for the second season is for the ML’s friends to appear less or not at all, cause they were annoying af. Other than that, this was a fun watch and I am hoping for a second season.

imo, I’m kinda glad that they cut out that scene because it is perceived as extremely disrespectful and shameful to do smt like that in chinese culture, and it may risk the actors to receive backlash. But I do hope they will release the scene separately one day.

I honestly wished that they would had spoken some Cantonese in this drama, considering the fact that it took place in guangdong, but I understand that it may be difficult for the actors to pronounce it. For some reason, the actor playing jiahao’s dad kinda ruined my experience, as his character and acting was rather questionable at times. Again, it doesn’t matter if the actors can speak Cantonese or not, but the dad had a strong dong bei accent and his character being unbearable didn’t really help either, so I’m questioning the process of choosing him for this role. I was also disappointed that they gave Raymond such an annoying and soulless role, as he actually can speak Cantonese. Overall, the drama was decent, wish they would release the deleted scenes, but I also understand why they deleted it.

Their editing and scripts in the show drastically hurt the reputation of those c idols, and to this day if u go to the comments under some of the vids, a lot of people still don't know what really happened. sinophobia at its finest!

a lot of paid yxh tried to drag this drama to the ground during its airing, as they tried to ruin yy’s reputation. idk if the dating rumours initiated it or fans of other actors, but the hate heavily influenced the ratings on douban and negatively impacted the actors. the funniest part is that the majority of the people who down voted the ratings on douban didn’t even watch the drama lol. For instance, they literally criticized a kissing scene bc the kitchen sink was still on, xu qin feeling emotional when eating congee, and medical scenes claiming that certain procedures were not possible but did indeed happen irl. despite the hate, I’m glad that new viewers are disregarding the hate and genuinely enjoying it without any external influences.

that’s understandable. I might just be frustrated w the ex lol. I am just waiting for the ex’s exit and for the main couple’s story to progress , but the next thing u know the parents show up on my screen which got me even more annoyed 😂. But at the end of the day it’s a drama so I should just put up with it lol.

I swear to god the parents are taking up too much screen time from the main leads imo. Was kinda disappointed with the lack of screen time they had this ep. Am I the only one that doesn’t really care about the parents storyline? I’m trying to be open minded when they show up on my screen, but find myself fast forwarding all of their scenes.

I usually love angsty stuff but considering the fact that it’s only 16 eps, the progression for their romance is going a lot slower than I thought. I enjoy the individual stories for the other characters as well, but the lack of progress in their romance is starting to irritate me and I’m scared they are going to start rushing the FL’s character development in regards to developing feelings for the ML. However, I’m still enjoying the drama so far ☺️

ig that’s true, it’s still a bit disappointing as I recall that the reception to her line delivery for this drama was relatively positive from some bts footage that was released last year when they were still filming. nevertheless, still enjoying the drama tho 👍.
