I’m completely on the same page as you. Luke is rude, and unfortunately, that really is part of his personality. 😅 I do think he has made a genuine effort to change, especially at this stage in his life, and that deserves some credit. But at the same time, effort doesn’t automatically make the rudeness okay. I don’t think anyone can honestly say that being treated rudely has absolutely zero psychological impact on them.

That said, rudeness can be subtle, or it can be pretty obvious. So, if my boyfriend adopted a female dog, gave her my name, and suddenly the whole world is going around saying, “Hey, what’s the name of the bitch?”—and the answer is always my name…

Yes agreed, one can have reasons to protect eachother but if nothing is shared then it's all speculation. My issue isn't that he wasn't informed, my issue is that even when all the legal steps were taken and the aftermath, she didn't discuss anything with him. Eventually he would have found out but he wasn't part of any conversation. Communication is the key. The way Luke is, if she asks him to promise her something, he'd honor it even on his death bed.

Actually I like both of them but the forum folks here have presumptions & strong biases mostly due to the novel. I hardly interact here. I saw your comments & thought to join in♥️

I'm not going to make you think any different about how you feel for Luke that is shown on tv. We are all entitled to like/dislike/approve/disapprove of any character. For myself, I generally look at what actions are taken by any individual not what they are stating. People can be sweet talkers or sailors, the depth is known through the steps they have taken. As for why he would treat Flora & her friend different. I have observed in real life, we can be very curt, abrupt or even rude with our loved ones e.g our siblings, parents, the closest cousins but will be very courteous to outsiders but on the other hand the care or emotional connection we feel with the same individuals is as strong as our life line. Is this behavior justified, absolutely not and that is why apologizing is the right way and learning to change your ways.

Yup, that's my point. Food for thought- How we process things for female vs men. Imagine if Luke adopted a female dog, named her Flora and someone comments, Flora is the real bitch.

Agreed and some bias is justified if a character is displaying certain traits. Here, it seems the heavy weight is from presumptions. Since we are not watching the novel, we should simply take the characters as they are here in the show called Early spring❣️

Agreed 100%. We are not watching the novel. We are watching a show that has taken the inspiration from a novel. That's it. It's up to the production team what they choose to do with the characters. I'm thankful for how great the character development of Luke has been shown here and don't want to dilute my happiness with constant negative remarks originating from the novel's characters

On this forum I see so much negativity about Luke and then I realized these are mostly the people who have read the novel or have heard the novel's story so their bias is next level ;)
