It's a wonderful drama - and that's no lie
Usotoki Rhetoric is a gem. Imaginative, with attention to detail, it's an intelligent drama that demands attention and thought.
It was clearly made with care, and there's a human quality to its production that shines through.
Nonetheless, I do think some of the plot points presented need a second season in order to be properly addressed. As it stands, some of the ramifications of the plot remain somewhat underdeveloped - we need to know more of Soma's background, who the mysterious landlady is, the identity of Kanako's father... and so many other aspects.
The premise is rich, so are its many possibilities.
As it stands, while the drama does work with its singular season, one can't help but feel a lingering sense that future instalments would add increased depth to it.
A worthy watch, with plenty to ponder.
