Joy of Life 1 and 2 are similarly humorous with adventure and suspense. I highly recommend both seasons!

i'm so tired of zhang dada and his posse. the people on his team are so irritating with all the lies, deceit, and victim mindset. i love the people on revival island so much more and especially hou minghao and shen yue <3

i'm watching this a second time right now (first watched it back in 2020), and it's still one of my favorite feel-good dramas. no unnecessary evil characters and i love how realistic it is. the main couple is adorable and i keep wanting to watch more of their dramas. if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. i love both of them!

genuine question...does the plot and/or acting get better? i'm on episode 2 and i'm already bored. also, jae-i's expressionless face is starting to make me want to quit this drama :( no matter the scene or her lines, her face never changes...someone please tell me it gets better

i also prefer the second couple over the main couple. their story is much more captivating because we all know they each have their own reserves and it's interesting to see their story play out. the main couple, on the other hand - ziyu is like a little puppy who fell for the girl a little too quickly and for some reason, their dialogue is so cringe to me :( but i'm only on episode 9, so hopefully, their interactions will get better.

couldn't agree more. i'm here after finishing sweet home 2 but both his character and park min young's character are so bland :( i'm thinking about dropping,,,

totally agree with you. i've seen way worse dramas out there and i'm glad i decided to give this one a shot despite the negative comments. honestly, it's not that bad. it's not great, but i'm on episode 14 without skipping any scenes and without watching at 1.5x speed, so that's a win in my book lol

tbh, it isn't bad. i've seen dramas that were waaaay worse. at least i didn't have to watch this one in 1.5x speed, unlike some other shows i've seen lol. it's actually quite funny and you won't get bored. i'd say try watching at least the first 2-3 episodes to see if you want to continue - that was my plan and i'm on eps 14 right now lol maybe because i went in with SUPER low expections but to each their own.

I never got past episode 4, so maybe it was revealed later on that her bf didn't want to "lose" to a hoobae. I'm mainly referring to the beginning when it was quite obvious that she wasn't into her bf anymore, yet never broke up with him and asked to be "friends" with someone whom she knew had feelings for her while she was still in a relationship. I guess it's hard for people to change what they're familiar with, like breaking up after a long-term relationship, so maybe they were both stringing each other along in a sense.

i wish i could go at 2x speed...netflix only allows up to 1.5x 😭 i've also been skipping scenes...i'm glad i'm not the only one! haha

It's actually a different writer :( MDL didn't update it...the original writer left after episode 12 of S1, which I honestly didn't really notice because the foundation and story of S1 was already well in place, so I didn't notice the decline in quality. But for S2, I totally agree with what you said...I rewatched S1 thinking I'll see similar vibes in S2, but so far, it's SO different and the story is so hollow. They made all the main characters suddenly so dumb and weak. Sigh...I'm only on episode 6, but I'm already fast-forwarding a lot of scenes :(

Absolutely agree with you. I'm only on episode 4 but already, I feel that the FL is so wishy washy and keeps stringing along her bf when she obvi no longer has feelings for him. She already knows the ML has feelings for her and yet she's the one who asked for them to become friends.

everything about this drama was done flawlessly and you'll never be bored. easily one of my top dramas!! ahh love it so much! perfectly executed and perfectly written. i can't believe it took me this long to discover this. I'm suffering from major withdrawals right now 😫

I totally agree with you on this. I also wished there was more of a storyline instead of the movie focusing purely on their training and sacrifice. I think if it were better executed and with an actual story and antagonist, this movie would have been so much better. My friend ended up getting up halfway through the movie and was playing at the arcade :/ I tried to suck it up and finished the movie but it was difficult to focus lol

Seems to me that this has nothing to do with my actual review but everything with the fact that I rated The Untamed 10 stars before this. I don't have time for your word salad and your false attempts at "reasoning" because at the end of the day, you cannot move on from the fact that he became popular because of The Untamed, whether you like it or not. Get off your high horse.

You know what else is funny? I have written plenty of negative reviews because the drama or movie simply isn't to my taste, yet, it's always the toxic hardcore Yibo fans who ALWAYS respond to me and act like they make all the rules. There is no way their idol will do anything unfathomable like pick a bad project and the culprit is always those CQL fans if anything negative ever surfaces. It sounds to me like you have a habit of blindly supporting the projects of people that you stan - good for you. Well, guess what? I am not like you and I don't need your opinions nor do I need to conform to what you think is showing "support" by bashing another fan. It's ok to admit it instead of walking in circles - you're anti-CQL, which is why you mentioned BL to begin with - the truth is out.

Have a nice life going around and responding to all negative reviews as his self-appointed unofficial representative - I can put my money on the fact that there are plenty of them, so you'll be busy. We're done here.

Hilarious how you feel the need to "speak" on his efforts when as a third party, you know nothing about why he chose a project (is it truly patriotism, as you like to call it, or does he even have a choice because as you mentioned, mainstream projects are backed by the gov). Someone with Yibo's popularity has plenty of soft power and influence, and as such, likely will get scouted to participate in govt-backed projects (along with any other popular idol-turned-actor because their influence is palpable). You are free to look at everything through rose-colored lenses but do not try to generalize every single negative review as a "disrespect to his efforts" because if you actually read my review, I said nothing negative about yibo or his acting. Also, the fact that you think my review makes me "sinophobic" already says it all - you've already made up your mind that any negative review about his projects are written by either his antis or someone with sinophobia. I'll let you in on a secret - I'm Chinese, so no, I do not dislike my own people and no, I don't need you to tell me when or how to appreciate a project. You do also realize that this movie was selected by the Party as one of the mandatory films that the workforce in China need to watch to promote Chinese society right? Patriotism or propaganda - you decide.

On a different note, I would appreciate if you would stop telling others who to stan or who not stan based on what YOU think is best. The way that you reacted to my review purely stems from a communistic mindset whether you realize or not. So to answer your question, no I will not stop stanning him because I like him as an artist and as an actor (mainstream or not). Don't worry, I won't tell you what to do though.

So you're saying that as a fan I'm supposed to love every single movie that he's in without any opinions on the movie itself? I am simple stating my review on the actual movie, not him as an actor. Stop being so sensitive and stop trying to control other people's opinions - his fandom has become such a dictatorship, it's sad.

Also, what does any of this have to do with BL? Whether you like it or not, it's part of his history, so just accept it and move on. This isn't a cult.
