Thankfully the show gets better after a few episodes. I'm finally enjoying this story! It's cheesy and predictable sometimes but I like it. Every actor who plays a North Korean is absolutely amazing. The cast totally makes up for the cheesiness of the plot.
I'm on episode 4 and so far I find this show very cringy. I personally don't like the FL's acting but it might be the character herself who was written like that. I usually like slightly unrealistic dramas but this one is getting harder and harder to watch.
Some people would probably do it just to make the average drop faster.
Unfortunately that seems to be the case. I just wished they would simply give their honest opinion because those who were interested in watching this will see all the 1 star reviews and think this was an extremely problematic show that isn't even worth watching the first episode of, which is not the case at all.
This! I agree with this. Like yeah, (im trying to speak as non bias as I can since honestly episode 1-11 were…
Yeah, I feel like the chemistry vanished the moment they got into a relationship! I was very disappointed with how this show turned out to be but it's unfair to ignore the amazing first few episodes, Like, I would understand if the person didn't like it very much since the beginning and gave it a low score. But some people kept saying this was one of the best BL's and now they give it less than 3 stars??? It's sad and funny at the same time.
I loved it. The atmosphere and the aesthetic are simply amazing. The last scene made me sob: Fix You was the perfect song for that ending! I loved the story and the characters. Very simple and delicate ^^
Everyone has the right to give this show 1 star if they feel like it but I think it's really sad that some people are giving it 1 star even though they enjoyed the first few episodes. And this show wasn't as problematic as some other loved shows... I feel like some people are just frustrated because it didn't go the way they wanted it to and because of the wasted potential but giving it 1 star as a revenge seems quite petty to me LOL. If you did give it a low score please don't be offended by my comment! I'm just expressing my thoughts hahaha
I'm on episode 4 and I'm afraid my review will be similar to yours. The acting of the female lead is so over the top I can't help but see this as a typical silly romcom. I love Hyunbin but the romance is ruining his character (is that really how a North Korean general would act around a possible spy/enemy of his nation?). And the portrait of North Korea seems so fake it actually confused me: are we talking about the same dictature? The one that demands the execution and decapitation of people IN PUBLIC??? I don't know, I was expecting a more serious drama. I know they wanted to set a limit so that they didn't get in trouble but it could have been at least more serious than this... so far it's just a comedy.
I love this show. Specially the first 7-8 episodes. But there are three things that I don't like: 1- the saliva sounds. and the breathing. it's pretty bad tbh 2- the jealousy. it's like the only problem a relationship can have is cheating and third wheels. I wish those were the only threats to a relationship! 3- mil's eyebrows. I'm so sorry if I sound superficial but it really deviates my attention ): his character isn't my cup of tea neither so it's very aggravating. I won't even mention the fact that the family (and friendship) aspect is underdeveloped in this show because the point of the whole show is the development of the two main leads and their relationship. I don't know what's happening but... the last three episodes don't have that spark anymore...
I HATE this drama. I'm not sure why. I liked the first 3-4 episodes but then everything started annoying me. I think the main thing that made me dislike this show was So Ji Sub's facial expressions. It. doesn't. change. I can't deal hahaha but I'm glad so many people liked it!
"If my husband-to-be acted like that he would stay as a husband-to-be because I certainly wouldn't marry him!"…
Hahaha thank you^^ Omg The Heirs. I haven't watched it and I know I won't! I'm still traumatised because of Go Jun Pyo so I can't watch any Lee Minho's dramas from before 2015 ^^'
