I know most people hated the ending and of course it's horrible and frustrating but for me it also kinda made…
I totally agree with the remark about the presence of the melodramatic tone throughout the show. I thought that it was due to the characters leaving their youth behind and growing up but in the end it all made sense. I think YSG was a tragic character since the beginning and kind of foreshadowed his own destiny, although I was hoping they would give him a happy ending. I knew something would happen but death was way too heartbreaking.
I didn't know this actor but I will make sure to watch the shows he's appeared in. So young... what is happening with 2019??? I hope he rests in peace, wherever he is.
I like Their pure friendship better than other stuff
yeah, I agree. But in the novel, although they are lovers , they are true friends as well. In the drama, their relationship wasn’t as clear but I always imagined them as lovers (because I know about the novel, and also their chemistry). But before anything else, they are friends. I think that is why different people with different tastes can enjoy this show: the people who love the novel and want them to be together and on the other hand the people who love their bromance. The drama is simply genius.
does anyone know where (or if) I can find an article, blog post, twitter thread etc explaining some concepts in the drama? this is my first Xianxia drama and I'm quite lost with all these terms like cultivation, clans and all the objects they use. Some basic concepts are confusing me way too much when the plot itself is quite complex already haha. How exactly do you become a cultivator? Do they not age? Will the culture and world of this story be cleared if I read the novel? Anyways, thank you ^^
wait, so who is supposed to be the good character and the bad character??? Is the wikipedia page correct? In wikipedia it says Lan Wang Ji is the bad one and demonic and stuff (idk, im confused because I havent watched it yet) and Wei wuxian is the good one.
