hmmmmm.. Now I'm looking back on why I started to watch historical and period dramas.
I absolutely refused to watch historical and period dramas because I thought it was boring and the episodes were overwhelming. Courage and the right drama for beginners is big factor. You don't want them to be discouraged, especially that not-so-happy ending was inevitable.
I started with a historical drama that broke my heart into pieces and I'm so depressed in a few days. But I craved for more. So I started to watch historical kdramas like Empress Ki, Queen Seon Duk, and Tree with deep roots. I started to enjoy politics, fighting scenes etc.
I learned a lot about the life they had in the past and somehow I justified the decisions of the characters that may look bad but it was inevitable because they see the big picture for their kingdom and the need to control the people around them. I read that they hated women in historical drama because they cannot do anything in choosing their groom. I just rolled my eyes and wanted to say: "Well that's life in the past people! It's easy to say that in our modern world but in the past they don't have that luxury "... LOL.. sorry for the rant..
Now I'm a big big fan of Chinese historical dramas and now it's rare for me to watch modern dramas.
These are my top HD and Period drama 1. Nirvana in Fire 2. The story of Minglan 3. Queen Seun Duk 4. Under the Power--for beginner 5. The Imperial Coroner 6. Goodbye my Princess 7. The Disguiser 8. The Long Ballad-- For beginner 9. The blooms at Ru Yi Pavillion- For Beginner 10. The Horse Doctor 11. Tree With Deep Roots 12. General and I-- For Beginner
I think the disadvantage of watching too many historical and period dramas is how I became meticulous in the plot and hated when they push happy endings and the plot became no sense..
NIF is such a phenomenal drama and I hope they choose the right casts. Need experienced/matured actors and actresses…
hehe. so true.. But I think Wallace Chung can carry it since he did a great job in My General. I still didn't finish NIF2 coz Ping Jing looks teenager that it disrupts the feels.. well maybe I still have hang over in NIF 1.. hehe
It really bothers me how FL’s costumes and wigs are really ugly throughout the drama. Like ik they’re not…
I think it fits her well since it was based on her job and status. You can tell the difference between her and leng yue in terms f movement, dress etc. who grew up in different environment.
This is the link. Do not mind the rating.its good..:)
Sadly, I preferred him in Historical drama.. Hope he got more projects next year..
