I like that they actually show us what the plot of the drama they're filming is. I've watched a couple dramas about actors where I spend most of it like wtf is this movie even about? 😂

He was pretty foolish for believing the old man, but at the same time from his perspective, they're just weak trainees compared to the old man. In any normal scenario, the old man solos all six of them, let alone three. I can see why he hoped that if he just cooperated and shouldered some of the pain, he'd be able to save both Li Fei and his brother

That's a shame. Having watched further, they cut too much information from these early scenes. The story feels disjointed

This actress gets a lot of heat which sucks because I've watched a couple of her dramas and she always seems to act well in my opinion

For example, do they explain how she is able to test at the academy? We go from her and the ML fighting over the hardship token and her spilling money in front of the teachers, showing that she was lying about being poor. And then the next day they're both being assessed. How did she get away with lying? Did the teachers let them share the hardship token? Was kind of confused about that

I'm not too far in yet so maybe I'm just missing context/a flashback that is going to come, but several scenes don't feel resolved. We just jump to the next scene without any dialogue or explanation of how we got there. It's still enjoyable, just a bit strange.

A great reveal ruined by an inability to be serious for longer than two seconds. I'm not even sure it's worth finishing.

Throwing it back in the pink teddy bear mascot helmet is crazy lmao. Idk what they put in this show but it's so enjoyable so far. It's always the shows that you pick up when you're bored that really deliver

I keep trying to come back to this drama because the scheming and conflicts within the home are interesting, but I can't get past the serious lack of romantic chemistry between the two leads

Yeah the logic about that kiss made zero sense. And Dean sleeping with clients would've been so crazy though that would be the nail in the coffin for that relationship lol. A video would've been scarier for Top and Boston for sure, but I actually think it being a recording is better in the sense that it is more hurtful than a video. Hurtful because while Mew knows it's Top and Boston, he doesn't get to see it and in a way, it's still a moment that was just between them. At the end of the day, they got away with it. Idk if I'm explaining it well but there's an intimacy to that. I would be mad about a video. But not even being able to see the betrayal? I would actually foam at the mouth lol. And I like that it was a recording too because we got that moment where Mew surprises Top with it and Top's reaction alone is so damning. Any hope Mew might've had about it not being true went right out the window.

I'm not saying there has to be crazy NC scenes or anything, but can you imagine if in Only Friends S1, instead of that recording, the whole friend group imploded because Top hugged Boston? Can you imagine if Boston was carrying around a video of Mew and Ray...hugging?? I'm not saying Tua's anger isn't justified because it is, but the scale with which this whole thing fell apart feels a bit disproportionate. Tua showing Jack the video and it escalating from there would've made sense. Tua going on stage, crashing out, and calling Arnold disgusting? Mmmm idk. Stone me if you want to, but if that's gonna be the scene, there needed to be a kiss. Could've even just been on the neck. Kisses don't just exist as fan service. It functions as a narrative device.

And it's not just this scene too. If Raffy is gonna try to hook up with Boston to the extent that Mr. "I Just Hooked Up With A Girl In The Bathroom And Now I'm Gonna Sleep With You Immediately After" Rome would slut shame him, it makes more sense if they kissed. Even Boston not kissing Tua in the flashback where they meet and literally sleep together is strange. I'm enjoying the show, but this is like a big elephant in the room and it's annoying. They're actors. Let them act.

Also unpopular opinion maybe, but I think the reluctance to allow any physical intimacy outside of the pairings is weakening the story a bit.

I kinda agree though I think it feels especially dramatic because the dialogue was kinda lackluster and we've never seen Tua mad before now, so it's a weird jump from the chill, passive person he usually is. I think them being out there was bad, but from Tua's standpoint, it's like he's not good enough. Arnold was so hesitant to label their situationship but then followed Dean, Tua's best friend mind you, into the woods and was about to risk it all just to "make sure" there weren't feelings there. That's kinda crazy. I'd be pissed off too lol. Idk if I'd be "jump on stage and send the whole club the video" pissed off though.

I get blaming Raffy, he doesn't have a good track record, but then when Rome realizes it isn't Raffy he's like who could've done this as if Dean doesn't go around being shady and making enemies every episode 😂 I think we all know who it actually is, but it realistically it could've been anyone. He's the lead every single play and the director is his boyfriend. Lmao there's no way Raffy is the only person in that club that doesn't like Dean
