@zineaera: What I read was that Xu Kai's fans did not want Xu Kai and Bai Lu work together anymore, so when Yu Zheng announced "Royal Feast" to be with Xu Kai and Bai Lu, his fans complained on the announcement; and so Yi Zheng had to change the FL eventually, because in the beginning, Yu Zheng said if you don't like it, then don't watch it, but of course, eventually, Yu changed the FL to the FL of The story of Yanxi palace. Therefore, at that time, the bad people "per say" was Xu Kai's fans. It was said that they wanted Xu Kai to be paired with other FLs.

I wish so too!!! However, we may not be able to see another drama ever with them together...Bai Lu always made a good influence on Xu Kai, in both his acting as well as in his personal's happiness. If you watch the BTS of Xu Kai with Bai Lu, you see how happy Xu Kai was always in them; and his actings were also better, he was like more into the dramas they act...it could be that they practice more in between them and experiment more among themselves.

I'm not a hater of Xu Kai...who can hate on such an adorable face with perfect proportions? I however, say how things seem to be from what I've seen China's public reactions...it doesn't affect my support on him, but I do wish Xu Kai the best of luck and be one day on the top. I do care him to be on top in China unlike some of you :D
Also, I said the drama he'd do with Esther Yu, not that Esther Yu would help him...the reason is because this drama is a re-make of a famous one that helped Hu Ge and Yang Mi get popular. So, lots of expectations with this drama. However, Esther Yu is also a traffic actress so it will definitely help as well, so there's nothing wrong with me saying it.
BTW, I don't have account on Douban nor Weibo, so I don't know what other people are saying..I just get my news from his alasos in Twitter and occasionally from MDL...

I loved Ancient Love Poetry...it was the best drama that Xu Kai did so far...

Yes, you're right, he's improved this year much! Hopefully, he will keep doing it, relaxing, and learning to be more more eloquent, like Yang Mi, Lao Ta, and Justin Huang. It would be wonderful if he can be like that, then his future in TV will be greatly enhanced!BTW, did you watch the last episode where he was interviewed by the gal about him calling his current girl friend with his ex-girl friend's name. Well, it was all a joke among the entire team, it was such a funny clip. Yang Mi pretending to be mad because Xu Kai said that even though Yang Mi was pretty but that his girl friend was of course prettier than she was...it was an entire show for humor only.mThen Yang Mi went ahead and messed up his hair saying that it was a wig, and started putting sticks to it. It was a hahaha moment. Watch it if you haven't done so...

Hopefully, he will...but I wouldn't hold my hopes up too high. Maybe the drama that could help him is the one with Esther Yu...(Chinese Paladin Season 6).

It could have been but I read it was for the ML that is, the FL's cousin who became the king. Although doing Jing might have been more in line to what he'd been doing by then...Actually, I find Deng Wei's personality similar to that of Xu Kai's. They both seem to be timid and quiet when they're in public, or on TV show, quite tight, not relaxed and can't go with the flow very well...

No, her ex works in the same office; but she's moved on, and was interested in the ML instead. So, it's a good watch. Enjoy it!

I watch Xu Kai because he's a very handsome actor, and he also acts well...he has improvements to go but he's getting better in each of his dramas

I was in the "I lost you forever" page, and someone said that the ML for this drama was offered to Xu Kai (the role of Can Xuan, the one becoming king) originally. Xu Kai however, rejected the project and took instead the "Snow Eagle Lord" project...What a mistake if this were the case..."I lost you forever" was such a well made drama...Xu Kai definitely chose the wrong drama...that could have been his culminating to the top ones...The actor who took the role, Zhang Wan Yi did an excellent job...he was supposed to do the FL's love originally....so, he decided to take on the role of Can Xuan. Zhang Wan Yi is now a very popular because of this role...

Why have you been torturing yourself if you don't like him? You must like self inflicting wounds! LOL. You should love yourself and others, don't waste time on things that you don't like. I enjoy all of Xu Kai's dramas and I think he's improved on each of his dramas. The Legends was one of his best acted one. You're entitled to your opinion of course, but why bother to watch him if it gives you bad vibes, can't you find better things to do?

This is the best drama of 2023 so far. Very touching story! It's an excellent Xianxia drama!

Yes Draco, he looked great for most of the times on this drama and certainly his face was just the right amount of chubbiness 😀 except towards the last scenes with hi son.

I just think he hasn’t been lucky to hit something to the taste of the public in China unfortunately. Hopefully, his days come soon as he’s such a hard worker. I liked all of his dramas. I loved his Lost in the Kunlun Mountains . You just have to get the hang of it. I thought both Xu Kai and the FL had good chemistry and acted well. Of course I also liked X Kais look in there

Yup, I was going to post it...yea!!! it's one couple that I'd like to see. It's going to be a modern drama...Xu Kai not doing any Ancient drama this entire year! The bad news is Tencent...which takes a long long time to air and it doesn't seem to be accepted as well as dramas from Youku and Iqiyi. I wish the best luck for this couple!

It certainly worth to watch, Xu Kai does an excellent job doing his sword skills! it's so beautiful!
