You may want to just do some research yourself or analyze things that you see on the Internet on Xu Kai than asking here because most (if not all) of the people here don't really know what is going on. You can check his status on X. Hopefully things will go better for him when his dramas like 800 meters, etc are shown. Right now to tell you the truth because of the silence and there's no activities for the past few months, things (as they appear) aren't looking too good for his career (no variety show and no new dramas to shoot). I don't think this has ever happened to him in the past 8 years. I mean definitely because of the defamation they did to him in August of last year, it has affected quite a bit his career and has stalled it. At least this is what I see it. I feel sad about it but that's the truth. People here will start calling me names but I am just speaking the truth and how I analyze the information that I see surrounding his career. Plus, he kind of looked depressed last time when they took pictures of him, lost a lot of weight and kind of looked down. Nothing will make me happier that I turned out to be wrong about him or that he would get great success in his next drama. He has worked very hard but he hasn't had the luck to get his career back up like in his first couple of years. This might be that his agent didn't help him for the most part. Hi, this one is exceptionally good in my opinion. But if you're in the US, then you'll have to have Disney plus to watch it or on some other pirate sites; or use a VPN. Xu Kai and TXW have great chemistry. This drama has everything: fantasy, drama, and humor. Enjoy it if you can😊. If you're in Canada, i heard you can watch it on Viki.

I said that MR did pretty well, I meant it did well in China and among the Chinese audience...which has much higher weight on a Chinese actor in China of course. If you went to a Chinese raw site, you'd see the viewership of a drama and that gives out the overall acceptance of a drama in China as far as viewership is concerned. MR is within the Chinese taste, maybe not as much of overseas non chinese audience ...

Moonlit Reunion has done pretty well, this is despite what the black marketing did to sabotage his success. It was too unfortunate, otherwise, the drama would have definitely helped him to have gotten more popular. @whoissilmoy: definitely, i didn't mean to say that he is a 'had been'... just that his popularity is not shooting up as a straight line/slope as it was in the 2019-2021's. It's growing but not as at the same steeper slope... it's a very hard thing to do, nevertheless, he's still very popular, in the top 20s at the very least. Getting a good script and a popular drama is very important to keep up... hopefully, he will find or have the right one(s) already or soon. On the Chinese economy, the thing i read was that because of the economy, that investment in dramas had slowed down and so more actors/actresses were slowed down, that is, not as much work as it used to be...so not seeing a slowing down on those actors in this type of environment do speak well of the demand of the unaffected ones, which includes Xu Kai. Therefore, it's a plus on him, not less.

Xu Kai was very popular in 2018 right after The story of Yanxi Palace and then in 2019, with his dramas, The Legends, AMA, and Once upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain. In fact, he received an ward as the most promising young artist of 2020. His popularity kind of stalled as far as growth is concerned in China after 2021. At that time, his followers were around 21M and ever since, the growth has slowed down. He hasn't gotten any super hit after his 2021's Ancient Love Poetry and Falling Into Your Smile --internationally the latter. Most of his dramas have been below expectations (rating-wise)...However, he did have a very good 2024 with 2 of the CEO dramas he had. He's still quite popular, otherwise, he wouldn't be offered the main lead for like 2-3 dramas annually. They said that China's economy has been bad in 2025, but Xu Kai's demand has been quite steady still. He's in the top 20. Xu Kai still holds the most viewership spot among young actors that are born on 1995 or after some 2.8 Billions or something like that.

Xu Kai has currently 23+ Millions followers not only 20M.

It includes hot themes for business such as stock manipulation, business acquisitions and its tricks and traps...it's the top modern drama of 2024... It had all attractive themes: business, technology, romance. You add to this the magistrate interpretation of Hang Ting by Xu Kai, it explains why it had performed so well in 2024 which was the most viewed drama for Mago TV in 2024. That's why 40 episodes may not be even enough for most of us who appreciated these themes... which can't be understood by simple minded critics like yourselves in my estimation 😁😁😁

Remember that the lord cat told her nothing was free and that she had to pay a price for returning to life, the prior cat lord didn'thave the energy to kill GY as he was dying so the only way to save the world was to conceal GY's core within WZ.. So MZY went back to the past cuz he wanted to know what happened on that night and also to see how the cat lord had sealed Gui Yin in WZ so he can unseal it and take it into himself. But then, he met his father the cat lord so he helped him to do that (i supposed cuz his father explained it to him and he said there must a way to save her. That's how WZ got all cured and had no more things on her body. WZ was going to die if MZY didn't take the QY out. MZY needed to die because on that day, QY was going to be reborn per say as it was a special night. That's why all of his collegues and everybody was trying to contain his evil energy because the mouse demon found his old material/energy and if GY were to get back his core out of MZY, then that woukd be the end of the 2 worlds. So MZY asked WZ to kill him with his sword given to him by his master. She was the only person besides him that can use that sword. So WZ stabbed him and killed him. Now, there was a plant demon (the all powerful plant that can cure all things) he gave himself to MZY and told him that someday it might be helpful for him...which it did. So that's how MZY survived. It's all explained but it can be lost in translation.

You sould probably give it another chance instead of dropping ALP after its first episode...it's one of the best Xianxia dramas out there.... it has 3 stories or 3 periods. The stories were so good. Most people liked the 2nd period over the 1st one...but i preferred the 1st one and the 3rd. XK was so😍😍😍 handsome in this drama.
