It's a great drama in my opinion. Of course, XK didn't disappoint and he always looked handsome in all of his dramas. The drama was really fun to watch for me cuz it had drama, humors, actions, fictions, etc. I loved it.

The core of the main demon (Ah Shu's boss, the one wanting to destroy the human and demon worlds to combine under one for his own dominium, was kept in WZ. MZY absorbed it within him and eventually WZ killed it whe she killed MZY's the human. WZ ended being a full (when she awoke in HZK MZY's place of training). MZY was half my understanding but I plan to rewatch to get them cleared ☺️

@Manjilparajuli: Yes, Xu Kai is one of the popular young actors in China, was envied because of his looks at least in his earlier startup years. He's the male lead actor of the 95 era who has accumuladed the most views as aML as of September of 2025 (and probably still is), some 28 billions+. That's why he's been a target of black marketing among other reasons in the Chinese entertainment.

Traveling back to the past was a way for him to know what happened and to get the demon. He got that idea from the library when he took the FL to his place of training which was a very advanced place as far as knowledgeto combat demons is concerned. It was something very dangerous and the possibility of success was very low. I can't remember what it was said so he can only do that to save the FL. Bear in mind, this drama is fictional (demons and humans, demons from ink, to plants, animals, etc, that is, anything can culture themselves to have human forms. So it's really a fictional drama and as such anything can happen. Remember the movie Back to the Future a long time ago? ...so, it's the samething, any drama or fictional are such...whether it'd make sense or not😄. So, I'd say that one can do is just enjoy it w/o much deeply rationalize it.

He's half demon cuz his father was a demon and was the prior Lord cat. His father wanted MZY to succeed him before he went to combat the villain demon to kill him which he did and was able to enprison it within WC cuz she became the cat lord. It was because of the twist of life that happened on that chaotic night. MYZ child met WC child. He gave her his lantern as hers got damaged from a fall. So the token to become the next lord became hers. When MYZ absorbed the demon so he can save WC (FL), he must die otherwise the bad demon could come out and destroy the human and demon worlds. So he asked WC to kill him which she did. However, the plant which was the most powerful plant on earth that can cure everything and everyone was given to MZY by the plant demon himself beforehe ended his human culture and gone back to plant. Because of that plant, MZY was able to wake up as his half demon was all dormant until his human portion was killed by WC along the bad demon (the one that wanted the rebellion and burned the city that 18 years ago and had killed whatevermany thousands of lifes includingMZY' parents)

That's the problem... you only watched 7 episodes. To me, the more I watched, the more i found myself engaged with it... of course, if you aren't enjoying it, then it's not your cup of tea and maybe you should find something else. Cheers! PS: It sounds like you have a problem with the script more than anything else cuz you find the ML is just too nice to the FL...but that's most of the Chinese dramas cuz they want to appease the female audience.

And you come to this chat to trash talk without even seen it and criticizing XK in his other dramas...why are you hating on him? What did he do to you? This drama did a lot better in China and Internationally than the other dramas you've followed. Besides this page is for MR. Go and opine on XK on his page if you have the guts 😏

I said this was because you haven't really appreciated what Xu Kai did in this drama. He did the choreography of the Xianxia fights so beautifully esthetic. Such scenes were so well done, the way he did the fighting, etc. The drama was very entertaining. It had everything: humor, action, touching stories. Xu Kai did the action and romantic parts exceptional well. Pay attention to episodes 7, 8, 16, towards end of 19, and earlier of 20th if i remember them correctly, XK did an excellent job 🙂... his casting was excellent for such role. That's why, the show did well!

It'll be a HE for all of them, definitely the main CP will have a very obvious HE, the other CP implied. You shouldn't stop on ep13 because ep 14 is the funniest of all. It's so humoristic starting with when MYZ and his cousin were left w/o the carriage and horse. Then, it followed with the incident at the Inn. It is funny, so don't miss it. I loved this drama because it has everything: romance, humor, touching scenes, etc. I love the main CP, they have lots of chemistry!

I've watched *all* of Xu Kai's dramas. I haven't missed any of his dramas where he's the ML. I've supported him and I will always support Xu Kai in whatever dramas he was, in, or will be in :D
