Yep, it's too bad. I wonder if the book has this story. I never read the novel so I don't know. I think part of it is because the government restricted the number of episodes that a drama can have. Yep, we'll never know.

Well, Cat lord was very nice to the plant demon and helped him to get the human form. But then afterwards, the demon plant (now in a human form) never saw the cat lord anymore, so he thought the cat lord had abandoned him. He then got humiliated by humans treated him very badly. So he became very resentful and thus he became a villain to the humans. So, he opened the consultation house and it would lead the humans into seeing disillusionment and they would end up killing themselves. MZY and WZ saw that and broke out of his enchantments. And then the demon plant said that his arts reminded him of the cat lord, that's when MZY told him that he had died. Then, the plant demon realized that all the resentment towards the cat lord wasn't justified. So he repented and he felt he didn't deserve to have the human form anymore, so he reverted back to the plant. He then gave himself to MZY and told him that he (the plant) can't cure WZ but that he might be useful someday for MZY if something bad happened to him. I also watched MR many times, well, just a few episodes here and there. I loved ep 14 because it was very funny to me.

It's true because VorXukai has reported this event as well. She's very credible. I think she might be closed to Xu Kai...

The reason why MZY survived the stab is because of the all-healing plant that the guy reverted himself. Remember that WC and MZY went searching for the miracle plant to heal his wife. The guy who repented of what he's done, who thought that the prior cat lord abandoned him realized that the cat lord never abandoned him but he never showed up again was because he had died instead (when he heard that from MZY). So, he reverted himself into a plant and told MZY that himself as a plant won't be able to help WC but that the plant would be good for everyone else. So MZY went back to the past, he can't change the past in such a way to mess up the order of things that had happened but he can get the bad core into himself with the help of his father. As to whether MZY is the cat lord or not, it was an open finally up for audience's imagination. But it doesn't matter because they love each other and I would say that WC would continue to serve as the cat lord but with MZY as a backup because he had all skills from both worlds as he is a demon killer as well.

What I posted was the current situation of the entertainment in China. Because production has been reduced, demands are less and competitions are high among actors in China. I don't think XK is the only one taking a time off because this situation affects every actors in China. I mean actors including actresses of course. You can Google with this search: is it true that the entertainment in China has slowed down a lot in 2026. You'll find about what I said above. In general that is the current situation and hence, it affects XK as well.

I wonder whether he'd be there or not. Usually his alasos (VorXukai, and the likes) on X would've announced it a couple of months before and it has been very quiet so far. If production starts taping in May, chances are that he is not going to be there most likely unfortunately. Regular members may change every year and it's not based upon last year. Note that this other young smart guy, i forgot his name, he was a regular member for a few years and he didn’t attend last year at all.

I posted here because there was a posting of the pay cuts in the entertainment industry in China. This is just a follow-up. This could also explain that there hasn't been news of new work for Xu Kai. Competition is fearcessly nowadays because of what the government in China is doing. This news came out into discussion on April 27. Pays is now 30% of what it used to be. Their final conclusion that all of this is happening is because the industry is planning to replace real actors with AI which i don't believe. However, I do believe that the pay is cut down to a very low level in comparison to the past... China's economy is not doing well currently.

This was on the news: the tv industry in China has gone down a lot in 2026. The actors pay have been reduced to 30% of what it used to be. So if you were making 1M, now, you only make 300,000... In other words, you're just making about 1/3 of what you used to get. It's not because that the economy in China is bad, it's because the dramas can get canceled by the government in the middle of filming or getting frozen after production and can't be streamed. So the main platforms are afraid to invest. They don't want to take risks to then running into the risk of failure. As such, they just go with the safe types of dramas and so most if them aren't good and people then complain. They said that so far in the 1st Q of 2026, they have produced like 28 dramas, so many actors/actresses are out of work. They said that some of the 90s young actors/actresses have left w/o work. Like one of the prominent young 90s actor was offered a script but got canceled and this happened 4 times to him. They said the 3 major platforms in China are: IGIYI Youkou and Tencent. They decide the actors, directors to go on a drama. They will stipulate in their contracts exclusively and if they don't comply, they'll be taken out. They said nowadays the most important quality they look on an actor is political cleanliness, then something else which i don't remember, the acting skill comes in 3rd. In the news, it says, although the acting people are having a very hard time in China right now, especially, the older generation, they are still better off than normal people...because many of the young population have given up in looking for a job and they just go on doing nothing, just sleeping at home or on the streets.

Yeah, I think Eight Hundred had performed betther than expected, 24060 heat index, it's not a bad thing. It was the #1 Web Drama of the week ending on April 26. We all enjoyed it. It's just Xu Kai and some veteran actors not a well known FL, so the results have been good. It was all on XK's shoulder I would say...So let's just enjoy it and a kudo shout to Xu Kai and the entire crew of this drama.
