his acting is soo good. it doesn't even feel like acting, it looks realistic
yeah, feels incredibly real. sooyoung said in an interview he has an intuitive acting style and it comes from genuine emotions, i'm not an actor but i feel like that's some big praise from a co-star!
I personally watch shows for the romance 99% of the time. The plot of this one looked interesting enough, but…
yeah i do too, and i actually prefer when shows are a romance wrapped in different other genres, or have romance sideplots so i actively look forward to those. i think there'll be quite a lot of it! we're still in the beginning stretch of the show after all, and i'm actually glad the show is taking its time first introducing the setting and characters to us before diving into the romcom-y aspects.
I actually really like that she's kind of flawed as a fan girl? I think she'd feel too perfect if they made her…
i really like that as well, but it was kinda obvious that some people wouldn't like it. i think it's great that we're getting a nuanced, developing portrayal of a fangirl who is actively introspective about herself and her own behavior. if she were perfect from the get-go it wouldn't have been half as interesting, to me at least. plus, i feel like people are forgetting that she did meet him privately before. it was a fleeting moment but one that showed his earnestness (he could have easily ignored her at the river, but he decided to approach her and show kindness) which happened at the lowest point in her life. she obviously clung to that and the image of him that she got out of that moment, after all it's why she even came to support him as an idol in the first place. of course she put him on a pedestal like the other fans, but her attachment to him stems from a bit of a different place i feel.
having read all the interviews and articles as well it's strange to me how people think this isn't a romance drama with the loveline as its main focus. yes there are multiple genres but it's still ultimately a romance drama (getting some deja vu here again). i feel like i need to prepare for comments of people being taken aback about FL and ML ending up together once it happens π i mean regardless of what you think about the loveline itself, it's gonna happen because that's how the drama is written.
wow, i recognized a set from dr.romantic in the preview for ep5. it's the foundation chairman's office π when you've rewatched a drama so much the locations start imprinting in your brain
we got two upcoming "monarchy" dramas (along with remarried empress)! one set in an alternate korean timeline and one in a pseudo-european setting. will be interesting to see how they pull it off. haven't seen goong or tkem yet, so i'm really excited. also the cast looks great π€π»
