Okay so I watched 2 episodes of this and although it’s entertaining enough, there hasn’t been anything that…
If you're tired of all the things you mentioned then it might just not be for you. I gave the show a 9 because it while it is nothing new, it does really well in all the tropes, genres, romance between the leads and overall plot (tho I'm also someone who tends to give high reviews to any drama that keeps me hooked/entertained well enough, it doesn't need to be an innovative masterpiece). Misunderstandings aren't dragged out, the leads communicate and side characters are really fun and charming. I got a lot more invested in the drama towards the end.
There is also way more to the romance that the drama initially lets on and it's a much bigger love story than just the bickering and all. But I don't want to spoil that for you^^

Love how that was everyone's reaction (mine included) who went into this drama blind 😂 Be prepared for many…
Yeah that totally flew over my head as well, it's a pleasant surprise tho imo! But there's gonna be a good amount of romance and comedy too so don't worry, the genres are nicely balanced. The mystery gets more and more interesting each ep so I hope you stick with the drama! :)

Title Vincenzo Spoiler
What about it did you not understand?
He basically just explains how he's going to keep being a Villain because he doesn't believe in justice, but will also actively get rid of other bad guys because otherwise innocent people will get hurt.

Is Kim Joo Heon the bad guy? I ask because I'm a fan and it'd certainly be interested to see him in a villainous…
Not sure about this one, but have you seen him in Dr. Romantic? He sort of played an antagonist in the second season and was really good.

Lowkey hella excited to see Yang Kyung Won's character! I've only seen him play comedic roles so far but loved him so I can't wait to see him do a more serious one.
Also goddamnit why does it have to be Disney+ /again/😩 Until when are they gonna keep buying up the licenses for dramas only to then gatekeep them from intl audiences? So many good dramas that came out this year totally flew under the radar because of that. Not that people won't tune in to this one because LJS is in it, so it's automatically gonna have more people watching it but still. Death to the Disney corporation etc etc

Wow! Surprised that Lee Kyung Young isn’t here! Damn that dude is in everything this year! Is he planning to…
the industry needs to let him go tbh😭the fact that we're already expecting him to appear in dramas is just sad. if you didn't know the man was literally charged with prostitution of a minor once yet still gets cast in countless dramas..

Omg yes! What I really love about this drama are the characters. Everyone has depth that is just waiting to be…
Yess so true, no character in this drama is just "there" for no reason, there's something to be found out about everyone. I also love that about him. When the leads didn't wanna talk it out, he immediately took the matter into his own hands and did a DNA test, I was like woah you're doing god's work right there, Jinhoo! lmao. It's nice that he seems to be a character with actual purpose and substance, kind of subverts the whole "lead character's best friend who isn't relevant and just a passive character in the story" type of trope!

There's another interesting bit from the character descriptions but it's about Jinhoo. I don't think he's connected…
« Since when did you know Chef Eun? Where did you meet? How did you become friends? Gye-hoon, who is the iron wall itself, is the only person he keeps by his side, so it is natural to ask Jin-hoo questions like this. Jinhoo always gives short answers to boring repeated questions. "When I was young, the police station." After giving a startling answer, he is engrossed in his characteristic chatty and playful remarks, and he avoids answering her questions about how they became friends.

Maybe it's because our loneliness is similar that we're close. If I say this, no one will understand, so I leave it to the jokes and pranks that people expect.

The atmosphere maker of Jihwa Restaurant, chatting and sticking to Gye-Hun's side. He looks cute and innocent in the world, but the experiences he had in and out of the police station as a child did not go anywhere. If something happens to Gye-hun, the rough old Cha Jin-hoo may come out of nowhere. »

There's another interesting bit from the character descriptions but it's about Jinhoo. I don't think he's connected to the overall mystery, but there's definitely more to his character and why he and Gyehoon are so close! I thought he was just the typical ML's friend with no clear backstory but it turns out that's not the case which is a pleasant surprise!! I'm really curious to find out more about him.

I also found Gyehoon's dad to be very suspicious right from the first 2 episodes. All his scenes with Gyehoon…
I've read the character descriptions of his parents on the drama's official website and one thing that stuck out to me was that while Gyehoon's mother had a fairly long description, his father had a really short one, only mentioning his job and the fact that he abandoned everything to look for his daughter all over the country (which could mean he might return soon?). Maybe there is more about him that we aren't supposed to find out yet? It definitely makes him look a bit suspicious.

Anyone else thinks that the actor who act as Min Joon looks like a younger version of Gong Yoo at some angles?…

I'm starting to realize that some of the best dramas have multi genres like this one.... BUT you have to top it…
My favorite dramas always tend to have a good mix of several genres! When writers and actors know how to execute that well it ends up being such an entertaining watch, and I always find myself enjoying those dramas more than ones that only focus on one genre. I always read comments on these dramas where people are like "i wish this mas more [insert genre]" or "this would be so much better if it was only [insert genre]" which I get, but that just means they want the drama to be something that it's not and isn't aiming to be. And I never really understood that. If there's a table with 10 different cakes I'd like to have a bite of everything, and if the cakes are good, then why not?

I don't get how people are saying this story is so boring. Some Kdramas feel like a chore to watch after episode…
Exactly! Like I really don't get some of these takes. 😭 Is it that some people just don't know how to watch a proper mystery drama? Because that's exactly how a mystery works. You are supposed to find clues and pieces of the story and slowly put them together, all while the story throws more hints at you that could either be relevant or red-herrings. That's literally where the fun lies! If they just cleared up everything where the hell would the story go for the remaining episodes when this mystery is the center of it all. For me this show has consistently been delivering on all accounts when it comes to being unpredictable and intriguing, but it seems like this kind of plot really isn't for everyone.

I know my happiest drama days are sat, sun alchemcy and mon, tues Link
Alchemy has been on my list for a while but the trailer didn't intrigue me much (+ I rlly dislike the ML's character in another drama I'm watching atm lol). I'm hearing endless praise for it now though especially regarding the romance and that sealed deal for me so I'll definitely start it soon. I need some more fantasy on my plate 🤩
