tumblr post i read yesterday: "its crazy when i like a female character and i think well she’s clearly flawed but at least she’s interesting :) and then i make the fatal mistake of witnessing other people’s opinions on the subject and find out that the consensus amongst fans is that she’s an irredeemable demon bitch from hell"
this is legit what some people on site act like (in addition to the fact that they'll then go ahead and praise MLs with the same 'flaws')
I really wish people who obviously hate romcoms would stop watching romcoms. God forbid we get a drama that balances…
it's so annoying to see because it's not like we don't have enough of other kinds of dramas that veer more into whatever genre these people prefer. and it also just confuses me because mixed-genre dramas are always the ones i end up enjoying the most, you get the perfect amount of everything so what's not to like???
first time i'm checking the comments since catching up and ofc, mdl users hating on the fl again claiming she's annoying, what's new 🥱 y'all need a break istg
people always talking about male leads being "losers in love" and "simps" but none of them can beat han da on who is shamelessly asking his serial killer demon girlfriend if they can go to hell together (yep it's been months and i'm still not over this show)
THE PREVIEW IS CRAZYYYY THEIR CHEMISTRY IS SO GOOD???? also the drama's atmosphere feels so light and natural, and very dialogue heavy which is to be expected from run on's writer. (i'll definitely make sure to watch it before my youth airs) their romantic progression also feels more natural and different than your classic romance drama. so excited to meet seon woo hae and seong je yeon 🥹

so happy with this genre combination, everything i'm fond of and also i can get to see KJY still portraying his intense side, he really needed a romcom but that side of him is *chefs kiss* 🤩
here is a better synopsis! (THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD I'M ALR HOOKED)
Kim Jae-young plays Dora-ik, who grew up in difficult times under his mother, a cabaret singer, without even knowing who his father is. Dora-ik sings in a cabaret in place of his mother, and is discovered by an entertainment CEO, debuting in the 5-member idol boy group Guardians. With his golden ratio visuals and outstanding skills, he is gaining unrivaled popularity, but when a murder case occurs in which another member who was the leader and friend of the team is found dead in his house, he decides to catch the real culprit, throws away the name of idol, and is reborn as a new character as 'Idol Eye'.
>>> so, legal/mystery + idol theme + rom com!! he was formerly an idol by the way they phrased it in the article i read. seems like both leads are in the law sector; FL is a lawyer who is a 15 year die-hard fan of his former group & ML is an idol who hates overzealous fans & does a career change (probably lawyer too?)
