Ep 9 and I just need to comment on the presents he got her - I cackled at the geekiness of it all. CXX's good looks made me overlook that the ML's background is that of a compsci post-grad. A bit of a stereotype but I found his eagerness cute
I see what you mean. I’m enjoying the drama but at times I think she’s a biatch (i know she’s really not…
Not sure which ep you're on now so I won't go into details in case of spoilers.
“would she even think about dating him if he was not successful?” --> The later eps give us more flashbacks into their past and shows us that she was the more proactive one in the relationship back then, took care of him emotionally, and in the day-to-day with the cooking. Based on the presents he gave her, I can only say that he was not good at thinking for others😂 So yes, she dated him then even when he was awkward and bumbling. His indignation at being dumped defo fuelled the fire for him to be the entrepreneur we see today.
I do want to see more of Lin Xi's side, now that she herself has changed so much in the 8 years. What is it that she wants now, and what's holding her back from facing her feelings?
Both friends, Tong Xin and Wei Tian, are A+ friends and stellar wingmen.
What do you think about their conversation in the diner?she said, that she is fully convinced that she made the…
I agree, the complaint is petty on his part, since he was deliberately trying to be difficult even after the conference went well. I get that he's motivated by a lot of anger and the need to prove himself to her, but it also isn't emotionally mature. If he is like this now, I think I better understand why she thought he wouldn't have been emotionally mature enough to handle a long-distance relationship back then. Not to say that her break-up approach was any good - that was an amputation done with scissors.
I noticed how she could order dishes without reading off the menu (that he showed us has changed), and knew exactly where the polaroid was on that wall. Lin Xi has definitely been back there on her own multiple times in that 8 years. Why/how they broke up was definitely badly handled on her part - but our girl was subtly showing us how big of a Regret it was for her.
Can anyone confirm if the subs on Kisskh are taken from/the same as iQiyi? I did a quick comparison and found them to be different from Croton's subs. If it's coming out on Viki too I wonder if that is also gonna be different
More than 10 years later and this show remains top-of-mind and relevant in China. Many lines from this show are so entrenched in audiences' mind that they are pop culture references - not just passing memes - in and of themselves
Jesus, I just came traumatised from 'My boss' after seeing the first episode and seeing Xingxu in another drama.…
Based on the trailers, there is some competition from Cheng Yao, but not to the extent of a love triangle . The relationship chart from the show's official Weibo indicates some sort of involvement between Cheng Yao and Tong Xin eventually.
In ep 5, what does the article in Lin Xi's post 'Together with You' on wechat memories mean?? how does that article…
A more accurate translation for her post caption ('与君共勉') would actually be 'Learning and growing together'.
As for the poem itself (游山西村), a key line in it is '山重水复疑无路,柳暗花明又一村'. In the English translation (which is beautifully done), it's the 3rd and 4th lines. It's been interpreted as an analogy for when a difficulty arises, there are still other ways/methods that can be tried.
There's one scene on episode 4 that makes me confused, during the conversation before peter goes to bed with his…
Yeah it got dubbed over. My guess is that they decided that having it in Chinese would get the message across to their main (Chinese) audience better, since this show is also being broadcast on satellite TV there. Could also be a broadcast requirement, idk
Nah I wouldn't call him that. There hasn't been any 'aggressive rubbing into your face' from him. On the scale of why-would-you-even-want-him-back-at-all to why-arent-you-wanting-him-back-already, he's currently just being a tough client. I'm 5 eps in and I find that both leads are rather mature and professional when facing each other again - inasmuch as characters can be with their respective misunderstandings, and when it comes to this genre :)

This show is not related to any others
