I am going to give this a try; I usually just stick to kdrama. But the trailer on Netflix looked cute. I suspect I will be doing a lot of fast forwarding. Lets give it a whirl!
Its boring, slow, boring, brilliant in moments. Is it art that started with a high concept and then turned out that showing people being whiney and boring also doesn't make great entertainment. It is very different from most shows, I will give it that. Would it have served the exact same purpose in 6 episodes? Can I even remember what went on? Not much happened. I enjoyed it well enough.
Everything about this drama feels like it was made in the year 2016 or round about. The humor, storyline, acting,…
I think in the past it was usual for k scripts to just say Africa as a short hand and not name a country; but increasingly it just seems lazy and maybe a little bit r****ist? I think as the wealth, power of a country grows they are expected to have more international awareness.
This turned into a mess; almost as if the writers thought they had 20 ep. to figure things out. Then with no progression of the plot it got cut to 12 ep.
This is one of those shows that one finds either out of the ordinary or just another way of being boring. The settting, the family are run of the mill, ordinary but time does fly even though afterwards I think that should have been boring.
One reason may be the cast take turns giving fine performances.
Still the series was entertaining enough; so mostly pretty good.
I did love how the Eun Pyo's husband was excited by getting underwear for super cheap.
I like how the mom said don't sign loans for people and the dad said keep your records clean.
It's pretty much ruined her life. Very sad.
What's was ok for 2014 doesn't seem right in 2022
