I decided to wait until at least 10 episodes are out and I've just got done binging the first five. So far I definitely prefer SML (which is probably a first for me) since there will be romance according to the genres. However, if I could choose, I would either have no romance or give her a romantic interest that deserves her and treats her like an actual human being. I've been so disgusted with how she's been treated by almost everyone that I can't see how she can fall for someone like ML. Besides that, amazing drama so far. LS is such a good actress. I can't wait for DW to become free and successful. Women overcoming tragedy and doing well by themselves are some of my favorite stories.
I'm catching up with the last few episodes and besides loving the leads being cute, I was disgusted and shocked with Duke's words. In any moment it would be distasteful and weird, but to say how her mom's appearance "might not be extremely pretty" while she risked her life and helped save his is insane. No matter how nice he's trying to be, I don't like his character after that comment. Also, LJX went beyond being annoying. His delusions and not taking no for an answer should only lead to one thing. I hope ML takes care of it soon.
I've only seen half of the first episode and it really caught me by surprise how leads are acting so natural. I'm used to exaggerated acting in lakorns, so this is great. His flirting isn't creepy (besides asking personal questions during the interview) and he does it well. Chemistry is already there, so even if it becomes a dumpster fire in terms of plot, it'll still be watchable.
But ML, the brother-in-law, doesn't have to have a huge age gap (way older) than her. Who knows her sister married…
As I mentioned in my post, I don't mind age gaps. However, it's already weird that she gets with her dead sister's husband, but on top of that he adopted her and raised her to be an owner of a pleasure house? It's not for me.
I wasn't talking about the actors, but the plot. After her sister's tragic death, Yu Qinghuan was adopted by her brother-in-law, Jiang Mohan, a powerful warlord, and was raised to become the owner of a pleasure house. To her shock, the man she admired and respected was the very one she wished to kill—the murderer of her sister. Jiang Mohan believed he could remain heartless, but he ultimately fell for her.
They are only 4 years apart...what are you talking about... She's 26 and he's 30...

I hope this type of premise isn't becoming a trend in Chinese short dramas. Age gap is one thing, and I have no issue with it, but this is off-putting.
What a bad kiss that was. I'm so disappointed with the actress. If you're going to do a kissing scene to show…
I agree. I think they should be casting actors who will perform well in all scenes, these ones included. If they still went with her, they could have simply not put in any kissing scenes. No matter how emotional, romantic, and dramatic they try to make the scene with music and angles, it still takes you out of the moment by how awkward it looks.
This kind of reminds me of Shining Just for You in a sense that there's great chemistry, good acting, quite an interesting plot, but due to lack of budget it won't live up to its full potential. I'm still enjoying it, just like SJFY, but I really wish we could see this without editing mistakes and bad cuts between the scenes.
And why do we have to see the ML suffer and cry over the FL and be jealous? Why can't we have balanced out characters?
I think most of us want him to be depressed for at least half the amount of episodes she was suffering. No one is talking about him taking his last breath for it to be "enough". Also, he has yet to suffer from that risk he has taken. Anyway, we obviously have different views so this is going nowhere.

She can use Ziyu for revenge and just like she'll end up with the ML (since that's how dramas work), maybe she'll do something about Ziyu later on. I haven't read the novel so I can't comment on the writing since I don't know what is from it and what's not. To me, considering everything she went through and has yet to go through, she's doing great. ML isn't suffering even 5% as much as she did, so I don't know why people have a problem with it.

She called him out on it and said he's no better than the ML. We can't compare her relationship with Ziyu who she has known for years to ML who she pretty much just met. It's harder to simply get rid of someone who was in your life for so long and you've seen them as a good person. Also, it benefits her to have some sort of relationship with him for her revenge.

We can't change the whole plot of the drama. She has already went through enough, why can't he at least reap what he sowed? He lied, manipulated, and deceived her. He even planned on killing her at some point, then decided not to, but instead planned her future without discussing it with her (while thinking she should be grateful for it!). Why does she have to go through all of that and then simply accept him because now he fell in love?
