Not sure if it's 100% correct because I'm recalling this from my memories but the female lead's death was supposed to be fake. It was supposed to convince the other people that she died so that she can start a new life with the male lead.

I hope you gave this series a try. The beginning was a bit rough and annoying for some people but it is more focused on the family aspect during this harsh time. Although, if you dislike yangzi, you might not enjoy it as much but she does have character growth later in the series.
I liked this show but am I the only one who disliked Jun shan. I know he had character growth and loved his wife…
I disliked him at first but after watching it a couple times, he became one of my favorite characters. From my perspective, I feel that he is somewhat relatable and I came to understand him more and more as time went on. I do still dislike that he forced the girl to marry him though.....but yes because of that, he had to suffer jealousy/guilt for part of his marriage. I came to accept it more because he really did love and treated the wife really well...although he was strict with the family, he was still willing to stick with them and help them in his own way.
Is the ending happy for the main couple? Because I'm hesitating to watch it, I don't want a sad ending :(
Have you watched it yet? If not, then yes it is a happy ending for the main couple. Although it's a happy ending for the main couple the ending was bittersweet for me. Enjoy watching!
