I think it may be because Asian people are very conservative and like to uphold a certain image, especially the older generation (of course I'm not speaking for all Asians). It may also be due to religious or cultural practices, like Confucianism, where you have to display self-control and emotional restraint. As for why there is little to no physical affection to comfort someone who's crying or has bad news, I guess a hug would be way too intimate a gesture even for a close friend. Also, the crying person may not like to be touched, so they probably don't want to cross any boundaries. They like to show love in practical ways, such as gift-giving or acts of service. In the situation you described, they are probably thinking of ways to alleviate the problem or give words of comfort to the person. For example, if a family member passes away, others may cook and provide meals for the grieving family. Again, I am not saying this is the case for all Asians; it is what I observed within my own family and others I know.

LMAO I can't believe it either. Maybe this kind of genre isn't her forte? However, I do have to say that 2ML in VOTB got too much screen time, and the whole storyline with 2ML was dragged out as well in the first half of the drama.

IDK if it's a cultural thing, but my Asian parents don't show much physical affection towards each other; however, they do show affection in different ways. They just have a different love language. On the other hand, GH's parents do not seem to care for each other at all. The dad only cares about Audrey, and the mom is more concerned for her own mother. As for MK's parents, his mom emotionally cheats on his dad and straight up flirts with the poet dude. Perhaps she is just fangirling, but I think the flirting and being jealous of other (single, might I add) women, to whom the poet gives attention, crosses the line. Every time she sweet-talks the poor man, I'm like "lady, you are MARRIED and have a son" and I get second hand embarrassment 🤦🏻‍♀️

To be fair, Audrey still talked and opened up to GH (about DS being her son) before the motorcycle accident. Her attitude towards GH changed right after that because it was her fault that DS got a concussion. The lady's probably thinking that the whole dumbass family (especially the father-son-daughter trio) is gonna get his son killed next (I would too)

This was why I wanted to know what the Korean viewers thought about this show... high viewership ratings and winning awards? like what are they seeing that we're not? 😭 I'm sure there are Korean internet forums where they discuss the show and not just grandmas watching

I assumed from the title of the show that we were going to see all three couples married by the middle of the show and how their marriage was going, but instead, we got the dumpster fire of a marriage between the FL and 2ML...

I haven't watched any of the eps since ep 71 and have been reading the comments down here. I have to say... I'm enjoying the old folks' romance (the aunt x detective guy and audrey x poet guy) more than the main couples 😂 it's a bit cringey but better than all the other shit that's been going on lately

I knew from the moment MG started showing interest in GH after he found out that DS and GH were childhood friends. He wasn't interested in GH before then but all of a sudden, he's giving her a piggyback ride and kissing her in that business trip back in ep 16? (That is very unprofessional and probably breaks the code of conduct or something because she was an intern and he was her direct superior) I was like dude why are you interested in her when you're still not over JN?? That's when I realized he wants whatever DS has and is extremely jealous of DS.

It was when DS took GH out to dinner and dropped her off in a car. It was so quick that you'd easily miss it

At this pace, how will the story do all that under 50 eps? usually, it takes more than 50 eps for the revenge to start and another 50 or 60 eps for it to unfold in dailies.

There was a kiss between the leads that is if you call it a kiss... more like the ML gave her a quick peck
