Rose in Da House: Nonsense That Somehow Works
Rose in Da House is honestly one of those shows that makes zero sense but still manages to hook you from the start, and I have no idea how, but it works! đ If youâre expecting a scary ghost story, think again. This series is hilarious, and Boun especially had me cracking up in almost every scene. What really surprised me is how great the cinematography is. For a show that doesnât take itself seriously, the visuals are actually stunning! Everything looks crisp, colorful, and super well-shot.
The best part? The banter between the cast feels totally natural. Itâs like they just threw out the script and started having fun conversations with each other. That chaotic, off-script energy is what gives the show its charm.
And I loved the friendship among the six guys, itâs genuine and heartwarming amidst all the craziness. Oh, and let's not forget the ghost Rose! She's funny as hell and totally steals the show with her over-the-top acting in the best way possible.
If you want something light, goofy, and just plain fun with a solid friend-group vibe, Rose in Da House is a wild ride worth taking.

SAKRISTAN: FLAWED BUT FEARLESS
Okay, so I really donât get why Sakristan has such low ratings. Sure, the budget is obviously tight and the editing isnât exactly polished, but the story? Itâs bold, meaningful, and actually had me hooked. This series is very brave in its narrative. Mixing LGBTQ+ themes with religion is no easy task, especially in a country like the Philippines, where that topic is still super sensitive. I honestly admire the guts it took to tell this kind of story. Itâs not your usual BL fluff, it dives into issues like homophobia and internal conflict, which makes it heavier but more real.
That said, fair warning: the series does include some scenes and themes of homophobia, so be prepared for that. And yeah, the acting can be a bit cringe at times, especially the guy who plays Christian. Heâs got potential, but thereâs definitely room for improvement.
Also, letâs be honest, the director has a bit of a reputation, lol. But even with all that, I still really enjoyed the series. The ending is sad, which probably turned a lot of people off, but I thought it made sense for the tone of the story. Not everything has to be wrapped up in a happy bow, right?
In the end, Sakristan may not be perfect, but itâs daring, thought-provoking, and full of heart. I loved the concept, and I respect what it tried to do.

Rockyâs Identity Crisis Felt So Real
Quaranthings is another one of those low-budget BL series from the Philippines, so if youâre jumping in, just manage your expectations production-wise. But even with the limited budget, the heart is definitely there. The acting is actually solidâKyo (Judah), in particular, delivered a strong and believable performance. But it was Rockyâs storyline that really hit me. His confusion about his identity felt super relatable, especially for someone who has always identified as straight and suddenly catches feelings for another guy. That kind of self-questioning is real, and itâs something a lot of people quietly go through.
That said, I have to admit I wasnât the biggest fan of Judahâs character. He didnât seem to give Rocky enough space to figure things out. It felt like he expected Rocky to just instantly âget itâ and be on the same page emotionally, which, letâs be honest, isnât fair. Confusion and hesitance are normal, especially for someone who's never seen themselves in a same-sex relationship before.
One thing I did really appreciate, though, was the introduction of a throuple dynamic. Itâs rare to see that explored in a Filipino series, especially given how conservative the country tends to be when it comes to love and sexuality. It was bold, and I give them credit for that.
My only wish? That more Filipino BLs had proper funding. There was a wave of them back in 2020, but now it feels like only Oxin Films is carrying the torch. What happened to the rest? The potential is there, we just need better support and budgets to make these stories shine.

WHEN LOVE SOFTENS A BULLY
Dangerous Romance had me hooked from the start, enemies to lovers is hands down my favorite trope, and this series delivers it so well. The tension between Kanghan and Sailom at the beginning is intense, but the way their relationship evolves into friendship and eventually love? Chefâs kiss. The show doesnât shy away from heavy stuff either. Thereâs bullying, violence, and some tough moments, but theyâre balanced with emotional growth and character development. Sailom is such a lovable lead, heâs poor, works multiple jobs just to survive, but is incredibly smart and resilient. And then thereâs Kanghan⊠your classic rich, spoiled brat who slowly gets humbled and grows up, thanks to Sailomâs influence.
Watching Kanghan change from an arrogant jerk to someone who genuinely cares was so satisfying. His character arc was one of my favorite parts of the show. Plus, Sailomâs friendship with his two besties adds so much warmth to the story, it gives the series some heart outside of the main romance.
Overall, Dangerous Romance is a solid BL with emotional depth, strong character growth, and one of the best slow-burn love stories Iâve seen. If you love drama, redemption, and a good "hate you... wait no I love you" story, this oneâs for you.

SLOW BURN BUT DEEP FEELS
A Tale of Thousand Stars is such a beautifully made BL series. I honestly loved every minute of it. If youâve only seen the trailer and think itâs about reincarnation or soul-switching, donât worry, itâs not that kind of story. The girl who passed away wasnât Phupaâs (Earth) love interest; he treated her more like a sister.Unlike many BL series that rely on surface-level romance, A Tale of Thousand Stars show themes of redemption, service and identity.
The setting is absolutely stunning, and the cinematography is top-tier. The OST really hits you in the feels too. EarthMix's chemistry is undeniable even though their romance is a slow burn and you only get a kiss at the end, their emotional connection shines through in every scene.
To me, thatâs what really matters in a BL series, not just the romance or the kisses, but whether the characters genuinely connect. And in this one? They totally do.

Season two of My Day: Stayed for FifthZeke
This is the second season of My Day and honestly, I had mixed feelings going into it. They replaced Aki Torres with Teejay Marquez as one of the leads due to some management issues, which I get but continuing the story with a totally different actor just didnât sit right with me. It totally ruined the whole seasons. It kind of felt like they poured a lot of resources into something that didnât quite land. The chemistry between Miko and Teejay just wasnât there for me, and even though theyâre supposed to be the main couple, their screen time felt limited. I couldn't really connect with them.
The main reason I stuck around was for Fifth and Zeke. Their chemistry was on point, and I really enjoyed watching how their story unfolded. They totally carried the series for me.
There were also a few characters that felt kind of... random? Like they were added in just to give someone a role, not because they added anything meaningful to the plot.

NOT SO SPOOKY BUT TOTALLY CUTE
Iâm usually not into ghost stories because they tend to feel sad, but after watching the first episode of this series with everyone partying and drinking, I decided to give it a shot. Haunted Hearts is actually a cute BL ghost series that takes place over a short period of time. The plot is so unique and definitely interesting. One thing, I liked it is there are only few casts on it so it is easy to follow. That said, it was pretty entertaining! I wasnât bored at all and really enjoyed it especially whenever Gina the ghost showed up. Itâs an easy, fun watch with great cinematography. The actors did a solid job too. Marc Alonzo (who plays Magic) is super cute and charming, while Larence Brenches (Jack) has that cool, laid-back vibe.

Slow burn with a side of stress
Love Sea is a pretty average series for me, to be honest. What really got on my nerves was Rakâs character, haha! Heâs just so cold and serious all the time. It felt like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, and despite being a successful, wealthy writer, he never seemed genuinely happy.Watching the series actually felt kind of stressful. It gives me headaches. I get that his behavior stems from childhood trauma and being brainwashed by his father, but come on heâs a grown man now. At some point, you gotta stand up for yourself.
The romance was a major slow burn, like really slow. Even with Mut putting in so much effort to connect with him, Rak barely responded or he responded negatively. It got frustrating after a while. A lot of intimates scenes that makes zero sense. It is understandable if the story is about FWB but hey they tagged it as romance.
The secretary she is very annoying, I can't tolerate her. The GL story is not exciting at all, no chemistry between them. Girls' acting was terrible. I feel like the director or writer just gave them a screen time to make the series lengthy.
That said, Iâve got to give props to the visuals, the beach setting was absolutely stunning. At least it was nice to look at, even if the story felt heavy.

Open-minded? This series worth a look
Bedfriend isnât for everyone, and thatâs totally okay. It touches on sensitive topics like sexual harassment, so definitely watch with discretion. If that kind of content isnât something youâre comfortable with, it might be best to skip it.As the title suggests, the story revolves around a friends-with-benefits setup. I actually appreciate how the series handles that, it feels pretty realistic, since situations like this do happen in real life. However, there were a few scenes that felt a bit dull or dragged out.
I know some viewers dropped the series or complained about the explicit scenes, but honestly, the nudity makes sense in the context of the story. It adds to the realism rather than just being there for shock value. Still, itâs definitely not a light or fluffy watch, you need to go in with an open mind.
Overall, itâs not a perfect series, but itâs not bad either. Itâs one of those shows that hits differently depending on what you're expecting.

Flawed characters but realistic storyline
I came here right after finishing Jack and Joker! This series definitely had its toxic moments, especially with all the flawed characters. Vee, for example, he cheated on his girlfriend with Mark, and then his girlfriend also cheated on him. Yeah, messy! Some people might not be okay with all the red flags, but honestly, I found it pretty realistic. Stuff like this happens in real life, and that made it more interesting for me. Iâd rather watch a show with drama and real issues than something with a flat, predictable storyline, haha!
In the end, though, it still wrapped up with a happy ending, so I canât complain too much.

This review may contain spoilers
I saw the Jack and Joker trailer before but didnât really get interested at the time. I binge-watch a lot of BL series daily, and since I was running out of shows to watch, I gave it a shot just to kill the time, haha! But honestly, it didnât disappoint at all. This series is a total package: drama, humor, romance, action, you name it. I was hooked, and there was never a dull moment. I also loved the visuals and the OST. And of course, YinWarâs chemistry? Absolutely top-notch as always.
One thing that did bug me a little was how Joker was introduced as this talented thief who steals from corrupt elites and gives back to the villagers. Sounds cool, right? But they barely showed that side of him. There was only one scene where he actually stole something, and then⊠nothing. I wish they had explored that storyline more.
As for the supporting characters, my favorite has to be Aran. At first, he came off as spoiled, but he grew on me fast. Total diva energy, but in a fun way! Itâs just a bit sad that his relationship with Tattoo didnât get more development, they had such good chemistry too.
I have watched the Jack and Joker Special too. The ending is definitely open. It might seem like Joker died, but if you stick around after the credits, thereâs a surprise scene, heâs alive, lying under a mosquito net and waking up with a startled look when he sees someone. So yeah⊠could be a setup for season 2. Fingers crossed!

NOT PERFECT, NOT BAD - JUST A VISUALLY GREAT RIDE
Two Worlds is all about parallel worlds, and while some people might find it a bit confusing, I think itâs pretty easy to follow except for the ending, which is where things get a little tricky. So letâs start there.Personally, Iâd call it a happy ending, but it really depends on how you interpret it. Youâll have to figure out which parallel world they actually ended up in. Itâs definitely not the first world, and I donât think itâs the second either especially since Phupa's son saw a photo of Thai and Krai and didnât recognize them. That part really makes you think, especially the scene where they jump into the blue river. It's a mystery the show leaves hanging, which I actually liked. But I have a theory that there is another parallel world which is the 3rd world and they ended up there.
Anway, one thing I really enjoyed was the cinematography, absolutely beautiful. I loved the forest scenes, and Khramâs outfits were on point. Visually, the series is stunning. Acting-wise, everyone did well, and I have to say Max really stepped up his game this time.
Overall, Iâd say the series was decent. Not mind-blowing, but not bad either, just a solid, visually impressive watch.

SPEEDY CARS AND STEAMY SCENES
Iâm not really into sports, especially racing, but I saw some good reviews about this series on YouTube so I thought, why not give it a try? Honestly, it was a bit boring at first, the opening scene was all about racing and I almost tuned out. But wow, I did not expect it to get so exciting a few episodes in. Every time thereâs a race, my heartâs racing too literally haha. And itâs not just about racing either. There are a lot of steamy scenes that definitely keep things interesting. When Babe and Charlie first showed up, I wasnât really feeling it. Charlie seemed a little shady and there was no spark for me. But as the story went on, their chemistry totally grew on me.
As for Babe and Wayâs storyline... man, I feel bad for Way. Like, itâs been 10 years and he still hasnât confessed? That part felt kinda unrealistic, but hey, it made the drama more intense.
Overall, I ended up really enjoying the series. It surprised me in the best way.

Excellent chemistry
The chemistry between Tutor and Fighter is undeniable! Whoever cast them deserves a raise. Their emotions and love for each other are palpable, making their romance incredibly compelling. The acting skills are top-notch, and the intimate scenes feels authentic. However, I didn't quite feel the spark between Zon and Zaifah even though they look cute together. One thing that turned me off of the story was the large cast â some characters and scenes felt unnecessary and didn't contribute to the main couple's narrative. It seemed like some supporting actors were given screen time just for the sake of it. There are scenes that were annoying.
Given that this series was filmed 5 years ago, the cinematography isn't great, but it's surprising to see it doesn't hold up compared to other shows from the same era. For me, Tutor and Fighter's chemistry makes this series worth watching.

I love this series but it lacks intimacy
I binge watch this for straight two days. I was here after watching Laws of attraction. This series won me over despite initial reservations about its large cast. As an old soul with a fondness for historical settings, I was drawn to the show's unique backdrop. While I anticipated Yang, Thian's half-brother, might play the villain, I pleasantly surprised by his unwavering loyalty and love for Thian throughout the series. And I'm glad that his mother did not successfully brainwashed him. Though Yang mother's character in this series was full of hatred I find her hilarious sometimes lol.
This show is not focusing on romance but it focused more on family dynamics, business, and societal pressures. The real conflict arises when Thian's mother discovers that he is gay since he was young highlighting the struggles of acceptance in a conservative era. The character development between the leads is gradual, with Jiu's introduction spaced out over few episodes. While the chemistry between the actors is superb, their relationship lacks intimacy, which might be due to the actors' comfort level with romantic scenes, a trait also noticeable in Laws of Attraction the series.
Despite this, I enjoyed the series and appreciated its happy ending. If you're a fan of historical BL dramas with complex family dynamics, this series worth checking out.
