As for the emotional relief from FX and YSL and the lack of other couples... in the novel there is a side couple…
You're welcome :)
Zhang Chi appears briefly in ep 7 after Fan Xiao's birthday party when FX and YSL are drunk in the underground parking lot. A man arrives carrying Xue Bao Tian over his shoulder. That is Zhang Chi.
I do want to warn you though if you ever get around to reading the novel... Xue Bao Tian and Zhang Chi's "relationship" is solely based on sexual assault. They are not cute or healthy in any way

Yes it's them! If I recall his name is Zhang Chi (not to be confused with You Shu Lang's brother who's named Zhang Cheng. They are two different characters.)
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this drama. The acting was great, the leads’ chemistry was sizzling, their…
As for the emotional relief from FX and YSL and the lack of other couples... in the novel there is a side couple but they are just as bad, no, even WORSE than FX and YSL. We get a small glimpse of them in the drama but they were more fleshed out in the novel. I think, for the sake of our mental well-being, it's best that they weren't included.
To sum it up, Jira tells Ing about what Koh did so Ing decides to open an art exhibition to showcase Jira's works. Meanwhile Koh begs for Jira to take him back but Jira rejects him, and Koh's insomnia worsens so he begins sleeping outside Jira's apartment on the hallway floor. Jira doesn't know what to paint for the exhibition but one night he finds Koh sleeping on the floor and paints him.
Even though Koh and Jira don’t speak for months, Koh continues sleeping on the floor outside Jira's door.
After the exhibition, Jira brings the painting of Koh sleeping outside his door to Koh himself. It’s their first meeting in nearly a year. Jira offers to sell him the painting, and Koh agrees, proposing to pay an enormous amount in weekly installments, with the condition that Jira must collect the checks in person. Understanding this binds their lives together long-term, Jira accepts. Koh hugs him, promising to take care of him, and it ends there.
The novel doesn't openly state that Jira and Koh get back together but the fact that Jira still wanted to see Koh after all that mess says enough. It ends with their emotional reconnection and implies that there'll be a future for them.
personal opinion: the drama is better than the novel. I read it before watching the show.
The novel is extremely long (over 1000 pages) and extremely explicit with a lot of 18+ content. It's written well and interesting but there’s a lot of filler plots that aren't in the show. Chi Cheng is also way more toxic in the novel.
best believe i will never watch this again :( i don't even have the words to express what this film made me feel. my night is ruined. my heart is aching. my face is damp from the tears. beautiful and heartbreaking. i knew it was going to be sad but holy fuck
FINALLY got around to watching this after not enjoying the first season. This one was such an improvement. This is coming from someone who dropped Cutie Pie halfway through. Personally, I thought it was incredibly beautiful, and finally my interest has been piqued to watch the next prince
