I feel you... mine is more of indifference. Ugh the loosely held storyline and plotting is making me lose interest.…
I do love some of the characters, but the story feels really messy, as if nothing and everything is happening. The acting, OST, and CGI is really good imo, however.
I've been in quite the drama slump these past few months, but I somehow managed to finish 6 episodes in less than 2 days. All I can say right now is that this drama is damn good.
She is preggo he said it on a letter so is a shotgun wedding.
Why don't we all just say 'Congrats' and leave it as it is? And why do you care? Please stop making assumptions about someone's private life, it's not affecting yours, is it?
I remember considering putting this on my Not Interested list (who knows what I was thinking then lol), but the trailer is magnificent, as well as the stills and other clips. Can I exaggerate again how amazing the costumes look? Omg I love them so much!
so far I have only watched the trailer. But from what I see Bai jue, Ziyang and Tianqi are all technically Shanggu's…
For anyone else wondering why I'm on MDL again after saying goodbye, my friend saw this comment and told me about this.
First of all, @KiKo Tsukino is absolutely right. A trailer is there as kind of an introduction to the drama. For most of us, if it grabs our attention, then we would probably add it to our PTW. Making assumptions from a trailer is probably not the best idea...
Back to the story. The four true gods can be called siblings, yes. I mean, in China, we have non-related sisters and brothers! (if you've watched many Cdramas, you would understand) Of course, the true gods themselves don't see each other as siblings... But they are by no way blood-related, or blood-related to the Ancestral God.
I ask you to first read an excerpt from the first chapter of ALP's original novel by Xing Ling (translated into Eng, of course):
"On the day the Three Realms were created, the Ancestral God’s merits were completed and the god turned into nothingness and blended into the Three Realms. Since then, the four true gods under the Ancestral God’s command– Shang Gu, Zhi Yang, Tian Qi, and Bai Jue became the masters of the ancient gods. Although Shang Gu was a goddess, she was the noblest because she had inherited from the Ancestral God.
The four true gods had profound powers and dominated the Three Realms. After thousands of years, the Nine Continents slowly took shape. Unexpectedly, the second race, demons, appeared in the world after a thousand years. The Tribulation of Chaos came, and the four true gods joined together to fight the catastrophe…To protect the Three Realms, the four true gods lost their immortal forms and became nothingness like the Ancestral God, and only their weapons were left, which fell into the Mortal Realm. Among the many ancient gods that fought during the catastrophe, only three were left."
In the summary, it is mentioned that Shang Gu calls the Ancestral God 'Father God', but she calls him this in a way that does not mean that they are blood-related. He was the one who created her, so naturally, she acknowledges him as her parent. Same with the other three true gods, they were also created by the Ancestral God. Creating something does not mean that they are siblings. The Ancestral God and the four true gods have no blood relatives besides their offspring that they give birth to and not create, if they ever have offspring.
There is no incest in this drama, rest assured. ^^
Getting the job maybe easy, but how many issues she faced after that matters, she had to work hard so she could…
I have been summoned to protect my precious Chu Li!
Although I'm not an editor or publisher, I do know how hard it is for a book to be very successful. Yes, Harry Potter has millions and billions of sales around the world, but did you know that before Harry Potter’s success, it was rejected by 12 publishing houses? J.K Rowling was living on the streets at some point in her life!
While what I just wrote may seem totally off-topic, take a minute to think about J.K Rowling’s journey from penniless to one of the most successful women in the world. If no publishing house accepted her series, then there would not be the awesome series there is today. Yes, Harry Potter’s existence is all thanks to Rowling’s amazing creativity, imagination and writing skills, but we shouldn’t neglect the big role the publishing house and editor(s) had here.
You said that ‘she had another company opportunity also bcz of the job she got easily and the work she shown’. Yes, exactly! The work she showed! You get work opportunities because of your exceptional work abilities in the area!
Here’s the part where I have to continue my Chu Li Defense: The claim that she got the job easily. Chu Li started as an intern in a quite well-known publishing house. Although that might have been luck, the things that came after were definitely not. While other editors were busy trying to sign the big-shot authors, Chu Li was always encouraging the authors to continue their stories. As she encouraged them to not give up, she was not giving up on them and herself as well. I’m sure not everyone would be willing to stay with the same authors and help them out even though their sales were drastically declining and even they themselves were on the verge of collapsing and giving up.
Did you watch the part where her manager declares that she must sign a certain author and must get a certain number of sales to stay? This happens in real life as well. Jobs have deadlines, and some deadlines seem almost impossible, but Chu Li did it!
One last thing before I even find myself annoying lol: Baddies troubling the lead may be a trope, but Chu Li dealt with them well. She proved to them that she could be an amazing editor. Their jealousy got them nowhere.
Although dramas are dramas and real life stuff is real life stuff, some dramas also depict real life problems very well. ;D
T^T
In other words, something that you see repeatedly, or like a drama norm.
Feel free to ask any questions after reading this!
