The character development in this drama is PHENOMENAL. I was on vacation this past week and watched the last episodes today. This drama does not have the cliche details that I feared, a close family member's betrayal, misunderstandings from second leads, etc.
Emperor Wen is the funniest guy. Not only is he fair when it comes to political matters, he cares about those around him and never fails to make us laugh.
Empress Xuan and Consort Yue have such a beautiful relationship that I have never seen before in any drama among two women who share the same husband. Their dialogues are only filled with love and care, with not even a bit of dislike at all.
Not only are the leads lovable, but all of Shaoshang's friends and family are as well. The way they all stood up for her, cared for her even when she wasn't physically there, this is true love right here. Not just between lovers, but familial love. There is simply so much to say about the Cheng Family and sooo many other supporting characters in this drama but I'll just leave this here: LLTG is amazing.
I am not at all caught up, but the scene in episode 18 with DFQC crying in XLH’s arms was just so precious. Who could imagine that the cold, lofty, demon lord would fall into a mere fairy’s arms like this? His transformation to understanding care and love is so beautiful.
Honestly, I love the setup of the rooms in Cang Yan Sea, they're not exactly fully Western decors, but they're a bit different than the usual beds and tables we would see in other Xianxia dramas. The furniture Is elegant and beautiful.
