Two major support characters died and you say nothing is happening?
I honestly could not connect to those characters at all, what can I say?
Perhaps I've watched too many Xianxias, and these tropes are no longer appealing to me anymore. I'm sure I would've really loved this drama in 2019/2020, but when you watch many dramas with basically the same cliches, the drama is not longer appealing. That being said tho, the costumes are undoubtedly beautiful, and the acting skills are phenomenal. It's just the story for me.
Just my honest opinion. No hard feelings. I'm not attacking anyone, and only intended for my comment to spark conversation with those that feel the same way.
omg i feel the same way. I also feel like the relationship between both leads are like an abusive relationship…
Totally agree, however, I don't think it's abusive, it's just so very tropey. And boring lmao. I agree with your idea of the leaving and chasing, though. You both love each other, just overcome these things together, don't just cry, commit suicide, and sacrifice LMAO. I was hoping for a unique Xianxia, but we get all of the expected cliches again, powerful, cold ML who needs to fulfill his duties as some immortal god, FL who starts as a naive little girl who falls in love with the ML first and gets her heart broken, bitchy supporting female leads, misunderstandings for "the better good", sacrifices without communication, etc.
It's just a cycle of "I'll do this for you because I love you so much and I don't expect anything back, so I'll just die for you but I don't care if you cry about it because you're still alive".
Literally still watching this just for Ying Yuan's parents' side story. I have been looking forward to that for a very long time.
Lol! I completely forgot about this list, which reminds me that I probably should take a list at all my lists because quite some things have changed. This list didn't change much, but I would like to add Yu Shuxin.
Tbh, never really been a Wang Hedi fan before this but he slayed. Hands down. His Mandarin is perfect, it’s…
The blogger is saying absolute rubbish LOL. It’s true that his accent doesn’t match the Chinese government’s requirements but in no way at all should it be problematic. That is straight up disrespectful, and I think that ‘blogger’ should shut his mouth as soon as he can. He’s Sichuanese, which is also where my parents are from, and you could say that the Sichuan dialect isn’t exactly the most good sounding, however, I would say that the accent is very interesting. It’s a shame I lost the accent when I was a toddler. My mom and dad, on the other hand, grew up in Sichuan but went to Beijing for undergrad, so they were lucky to know both the Sichuan and Beijing dialects. Most people who stay in Sichuan will be much more fluent and comfortable with Sichuanese.
I'm still yet to finish the drama, but you said it all ( I can justify it since I've seen spoilers on the IQIYI…

His Mandarin is perfect, it’s just his accent. Mainland Cdramas only use what one would call a ‘Beijing traditional accent’. There’s nothing wrong with his accent, but the government has a bunch of gibberish rules. I’m not sure if he can change his accent at this age, and not sure if he should. He has a beautiful voice tho.
Yes, the directing, pace and storyline are not great. This is sadly a disappointment.
Why get so upset about someone's opinion? Everyone has different preferences, and everyone has the right to comment on whichever drama they'd like. :) It's truly a disappointing feeling when you've been waiting on a drama so long and it doesn't turn out the way you expected it to.
Thank you for the wonderful review! You’ve managed to do justice with words to a drama that left me speechless…
Thank you for reading!
I totally agree. The illustration at the beginning and end of the drama are simply gorgeous. It's honestly an upgrade from openings of previous dramas with openings that contained scenes here and there. And I don't think anyone can get tired of the OST. I honestly thought that this was a medium-budget drama but everything that I've seen from LBFAD is top-tier.
I've been thinking, the appearance of the Liu Li Fire (Liu Li Huo) was such a beautiful addition to the last episode of the drama. Dong Fang Qing Cang didn't lose his Hellfire (Ye Huo) because love made him weak, he lost it because love helped him control an even stronger fire, Liu Li Fire.

It's my opinion, people on this page need to take it easy before the comments section becomes my next comedy drama.
