Read a few more comments and think I’m getting the gist of things.
I'm going to be straightforward: I was TOTALLY not expecting Xie Minghao to be such a manipulative and cold man. He will do anything for his love, and...I can't even call it love. It was a terrifying desire, and yes, he was willing to do ANYTHING, absolutely anything, to gain Xieyi's love.
As opposed to many others here, I really enjoyed this drama. Episodes 24-29 was what made the drama A LOT different from those fluffy bunny rom-coms (A Love So Beautiful, Put Your Head on My Shoulder, etc) Ok, who doesn't want to kill Xie Minghao? However, he's that character, that wall, that makes the story so much more interesting. Yes, he's a psychopath, he has been entirely controlled by an unreasonable desire, but the story would be nothing without him...
Xieyi was a bit disappointing in the middle, however, but she quickly stepped up to her game.
For those of you who don't know, 'jealous' is 吃醋 (chi cu) in Chinese, which translates literally to 'eating/drinking vinegar'. As Xieyi was talking about how Li Zeliang and Chuchu were 'the perfect pair', she dumped the entire container of vinegar into her noodles. I thought that this was such good symbolism!
