As for Tian Qi and Yue Mi, the author of the original novel of ALP is currently writing a novel about Tian Qi and Yue Mi's love story, which happens after all these events in ALP. It is called "High God Bai Shuo", in which Yue Mi is Bai Shuo.
Not sure if it will surpass LoveO2O in terms of ratings, however I feel Reba is definitely acting is very natural…
Yup, the overrated rating that Love O2O has. But I can't blame MDL'ers. After all, most of us watched Love O2O as one of our first Cdramas. But I have the confidence that the rating will be higher for YAMG. :D
I rate after the drama is finished so that my rating reflects my thoughts about the entire drama. That said, I have a question: Why did you rate YAMG 8.5 when you're encouraging us to increase the rating to 9? Sorry, just curious. ;D
Here's an excerpt from chapter 24 of the novel (Qing Mu and Hou Chi on Liaowang Mountain)
“You want to wait for Bo Xuan here. After all, this is the last place he appeared in.” Qing Mu rubbed Hou Chi’s head, his voice a little dull. “I’ve been thinking, what kind of person is he exactly, for you to care about him so much?”
Hou Chi raised her head to look at Qing Mu. The joking in her eyes flashed past, then she hummed and said, “He is worth my trouble.” Seeing Qing Mu’s face stiffen, she chuckled, then covered her mouth, her eyes shining, “You are different from Bo Xuan.”
Ya know...I actually think that there might be a drama adaptation of 'High God Bai Shuo', which is an ongoing novel by Xing Ling (about Yue Mi and Tian Qi) and is also the sequel to ALP's novel, 'Ancient God'. It's not impossible, because Eternal Love and Eternal Love of Dream is the example, and they're both very successful!
So...I love both dramas. LAR a tiny bit more, though. LAR comes in #2 and AoL #6 for fave Cdramas. I guess I wasn't a big fan of the huge love triangle that Ashes of Love had either, and I agree with your conclusion 100%. The second lead was just a little too much. I would say that in terms of childishness, it's almost a tie for me. But, of course, we were shown amazing character development from the female leads, and I love them. :D
As for the second couples, I was a bigger fan of the AoL one, Mu Ci and Liu Ying. Linglong and Minyan, eh, they were okay, but Mu Ci and Liu Ying has a lot more chemistry and a more moving story. (I actually shipped Linglong and you-know-who at some point in the drama, lol)
And, yes! Both dramas have AMAZING OSTs. I just can't get enough of them! Your typical Xianxia OSTs, aka the best songs!
Here's a small clarification: Love and Redemption and Ashes of Love are NOT 'romantic historical Cdramas'. They are just Xianxias. There's a big difference between Story of Minglan and Ashes of Love. (Clearing up confusion as you included both 'Xianxia' and 'Romantic historical drama'.

I think it's because the first arc is a bit boring...but I know that it's necessary. Background info is always helpful, and got me crying further on in the story. Many people dropped it during the first arc, so the ratings were lowered. But...a few days ago, ALP was ranked #455 on MDL and now it's #265! A cause for celebration.
And strangely, I've watched all the Xianxias you've listed and love all of them, but I love ALP the most.
I just find it funny how people in this comments section are STILL protecting him. This can be turned into a source of entertainment: How Stupid Can Some People Get.
