I mean, you could just watch the third season, but there will be many parts covered in the previous seasons that you will not understand, and it will be very confusing. You won't be able to relate much to the characters either.
So I HIGHLY recommend anyone who is considering this drama and who hasn't watched the first 2 seasons to watch them first.

I really agree with what you said in the review. I couldn't seem to love Yuchi Longyan as much as other Xianxia MLs and understand what he exactly wanted to do for Liu Ying, besides protecting and marrying her. I guess it could be being of the dull acting.
