This is NOT the second season, nor is it the trailer. It is just a short clip that the team filmed to soothe the fans who are hoping to see more of the cute couple. There is no information about a Love and Redemption 2 from any main source, and it is just a rumor. Rumors are fact-less, and no one should believe them until they are confirmed.
Even if this will have a second season, [almost] everyone who loves this drama will not be interested in seeing, as I've written to quite a few people, the two main leads being led into another catastrophe that destroys their happy ending. If the director and screenwriter gave us this episode 59 just to tell us that they suddenly decided to change the ending, then there's really no point.
If the season 2 is in a modern world, they are basically just recollecting their memories that they had together in the first season, and the "masterpiece" label that many viewers have given this drama will disappear. Ask any die-hard L&R fan what they think of a second season. While it may seem exciting, it is way too cliche and boring.
Look at all the other Xianxia dramas. They are all based off of novels, and they followed the novel and had an ending that mostly matched the novel. Love and Redemption is not an exception. The novel ends with them marrying, having children, getting a happily ever after, etc.
So, what I'm trying to say is that it is: (1) Not confirmed. (2) There is no point and while we all hope to see more Xuanji-Sifeng moments, a S2 is completely unnecessary.
Although if there really is a season 2, it will be not have the same actors and it will not be as loved or treasured. In fact, it may even receive hate because of the bland "reincarnate to modern world" plot. There could be a possibility of an indirect season 2, with the story being set in the same world, but there will be different characters.
Whew, I wrote a lot. If you go to the L&R 2 page, you'll also see that it is unconfirmed. So, all in all, don't listen to those boring rumors. They are never helpful.
Guys, there hasn’t a moment that I was bored when watching this drama! The male and female lead as well as all…
It is not confirmed, although the director did give a very vague hint about a "season 2". This was based on a book, and the endings match, so a direct S2 is probably very unlikely, but indirect ones are a possibility. (by 'indirect', I mean a story that perhaps happens in the same world, but does not include the same characters) Besides, a season 2 with the same actors would mean stripping the main leads of their happy ending, and some irrational fans would undoubtedly be upset.
But, if you really want a second second, you should probably watch the 11th life in the modern world. (if you haven't already)
Thanks, I despend much time looking for this. What is the frequence of your translating?
There's no basic schedule, but you can probably expect a chapter every few days. I have a pretty busy schedule, and it's hard to get into the translating mood.
