I couldn't get into it.

I only made it to episode 16. Great chemistry between the leads and I liked the two supporting male leads. But aside from that I just don't get the hype. It was better than OG but I still lost interest in it. I'm watching people beg for season 2 and here I am thinking the 1st season was drawn out. I probably won't finish it.

I want to know why fish kisses are still a thing in Korean BL. Just don't include them. This story didn't really need any and it just made it a lot more awkward to watch. This series was okay but waaaaaaay overhyped.

Hosaka did a phenomenal job. The series wouldn't have been as interesting without him in it. He was the Captain of that ship lol. For the first time in all my years watching BL, I finally understand what they mean when they say "he looks like a puppy". Because Kakeru does indeed remind you of a puppy lol.

Yamato has beautiful eyes. He and his sister gave me Lurch and Wednesday vibes. I didn't read the manga. Is there a reason they are so....deadpan? Yamato was supposed to be shy but he came off more depressed and cynical than anything else.

That aside I enjoyed it.

I didn't think about it that way. You make such a good point! SW probably was thinking it was puppy love. And maybe it was a bit, but it was so raw. When it's a first love, it's a love without restriction. Yoonghee was all in.

Even if SW knew it wouldn't last forever I wish he would have let himself fall so that his heart could be renewed by it. His reaction in the finale when YH walked into the cafe was genuine. He squealed like a school girl 🤣. Then he shamelessly flirted. He missed him a lot even in that short time apart.

I did also notice YH is a cuddle bug. He was forever latched onto
Daenyeol or JS lol. He was my favorite cast member.

Sungho changed his approach to dating in the house after he overheard Seonwoo tell Junseong that he was comfortable with losing him (Sungho) because he still had one man he wanted to get to know (Yoonghee). Sungho never mentioned to them that he overheard it but he did tell Seonwoo later that timing was everything.

I believe the only reason he took Junseong seriously after that was because he realized he was limiting himself for Seonwoo but Seonwoo did not return those feelings. He gave Junseong a chance and it changed everything.

I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't confused and that this was really a Taiwanese show. They are usually really good with BL but this one felt....IDK. Like it followed a formula. Apparently this was a BL remake of the original. They remade it but didn't fix any of the things people disliked in the first one.

I just binged it again. Still think there should have been a 3rd couple.

SW absolutely had romantic feelings for YH. I wanted to scream when he rejected him. When YH said "when you told me you liked me 1% more after our date, I decided I'd take you on 99 more until you loved me 100%"

How could you not leap into his arms!I would have been putty. I think YH would have been so good for SW. He was young, but genuine. He had the type of pure, innocent love that people have when they haven't been heartbroken yet. I think SW copped out. He got into his own head and justified all the reasons why he shouldn't reciprocate YH's feelings. If they had just a little longer in the house I totally believe it would have developed.

I liked SH, but never saw his chemistry with SW. It was always one sided. Even if JH did not pursue SH like he did, I still think the result with SW would be the same. Rant over lol

I actually spoiled it for myself on purpose to see who the final couples were. With this show format, I wanted to go in knowing the ending so I can catch all the unsaid moments. Knowing that --they--ended up together and watching their early interactions when they still didn't know it yet was such a treat. Seeing someone fall in real time is so heart warming.

I did not have the best impressions of a few of them. I won't say who. I just thought some were very superficial such that they prioritized looks over all else. That said I feel like the producers could do a lot better matching lifestyles. They seemed all over the place. True opposites can attract but there has to be just a little commonality.

A lot of people mistook the subtlety of the film as plot holes but there really aren't any gaps. Part of the problem is that the quality of the English sub and audio is poor. So watch the YouTube sub first and then the original so you can compare.

I think it is heavily implied that they were already dating prior to the mugging.

The day of the mugging, they are both rushing to meet up. Swim lead's friend says, wow you broke my record, where are you rushing to? Deaf lead's friend asks are you free later? And he brushes her off. You notice he is wearing the same thing he changed into right after he danced. That means the mugging happened right after they rushed off to meet each other. He was obviously unaware that swim lead was behind him. But deaf lead was smiling as if he was already thinking of him. Swim leads asked him where he wanted to go right before the mugging happened. Their dating is also implied in the scene where the deaf lead watches a boy give his girlfriend a bottle of water. He then reminisces about how swim lead also gave him water like that. And it happened prior to the mugging.

The very next scene he enters swim lead's house with a key. Why would he have one if they did not already have a relationship?After they make up from their fight, the deaf lead uses sign language. The swim lead already understands it and not enough time has passed between the mugging and their fight for him to have learned it that quickly. You also see swim lead soften considerably after their fight. END SPOILER.

Rewatch it assuming they are already dating. Then the context changes. I think it was meant to be viewed as one boyfriend (swim lead) pushing the other away but deaf lead refused to give up on him.

Deaf lead actually speaks to him in the last scene which I thought I was testament to how strongly he felt about their relationship.

Lol I don't think they are similar at all.

But this BL is basically about 2 young men who develop an attraction to each other while going to school together. They both know that they have romantic feelings for each other but they also know that homophobia is rampant in their school. A classmate of theirs is (TW....) driven to attempt suicide due to how he is bullied for being gay. They end up crossing the line when they kiss and touch each other. One boy wants to pursue it. The other boy withdraws from him and starts to date a female classmate. Over the next few weeks, things get awkward and they get into a huge fight. They make up but Boy 2 moves away without telling Boy 1. 30+ years pass and they meet up again at the funeral of their favorite teacher. Man 1 seems to have no one in his life but he also doesn't seem to be openly gay. Man 2 has gone on to have a family but is divorced. He told his wife that he was gay. They meet and talk. Man 2 explains that he loved Man 1 when they were young but he also felt as if he couldn't be with him in that way at the time. They don't reconcile but they do both seem to be content with the fact that LGBT is more openly accepted by then. The movie ends with them going their separate ways.

I loved this movie. The leads did such a fantastic job. Taiwan is just unmatched to me in terms of their dramas. Some of the best I've seen come from there.
