Yeeeeah. This is the part of kdrama i generally hate most in all regards, everywhere because it is such a fucking boring copout writing-wise, always. A cheap coin in for angst and sob sob sob make the characters saaaaaaad and especially because it is so very overused, i hate it so much. Instead to write a couple who stands and weather their problems together (or at least stays together off somewhere,) they give up like a fart in the wind at the slightest opposition.

What is pretty obvious is that TK did cut ties with his fam somewhere within this 4-5 months (to work in another town/clinic), as he should. Best thing he could have done. Hope we get more deets today about it, but i fear it will be postponed till next week, ugh.
