Given this warm support from fans of TRHC...the drama that will follow after this series...will become somehow…
i have it on my ptw list and will give it a try. I find longform dramas easier to watch on weekly basis, it is less overwhelming this way. With TRHC i wish we had all eps already as it is a bingable show tbh. and waiting a week is PAAAAAAIN. I was drawn to TRHC due to the premise and trailer and of course i am always there for "this is a fake mutual beneficial relationship and it will only last... oh shit i am in love how did that happen" trope in particular hahaha. And when a character starts out hating a thing (here marriage) but another changes their pov on that so hard they end up loving the thing (aka TK with ending up being world's best and blissfully content husband, telling everyone proudly of his wife and kid who cannot escape him quick enough. Misogamy??... i don't know her, nope ๐)

Yeah but CS also has doubts in birdbrained beagle now due to the letter, her response to it and the warning of his daughter that sasaeng snail is still after TK. So normally he should be able to put two and two together who would want to harm YD with it. But oh well if he reacts this much out of a left field instead to it he will be on my shitlist. And that of Inok's and TK too, so normally he can't allow himself to be this stupid. Also that comment about the shares and how he should wait to give it to TK's child that pathetic Pinocchio made will bite her in the ass later on, since it gives away she doubts the parentage. CS needs to activate his one braincell and just remember it instead of going Gung ho on YD and TK.
I just had to read 'Sejin is the most layered character in TRHC' with my own two eyeballs. And I have not stopped laughing for the last five minutes. Send help ๐๐๐๐๐
i just finished watching ahn jae hyun on channel fullmoon. the video was uploaded 1 year ago. he was still skinny…
Yeah I'm watching Love with flaws with AJH on the side atm and while he is cute in there, there is such a difference to how he looks in there compared to in TRHC. Getting more buff in general aside, he looks now much more mature and manly imo. Feels he is in a much more (mentally) healthy place now than back then, since the drama LWF seemed to be shot briefly after his divorce (which was an ugly, public one at that) Happy for him, he seems to be a great guy ๐
The face journeys he makes in that drama tho, he has a penchant for comedy. His timing and expressions are so good and funny ๐)
Random but I just realized that TK, JH and SJ are the same age whereas YD is younger than the rest. But in real…
Daaaamn now I want that too, even if it will be hard to convince Yeondoo to use such cringy pet names, hahahaha. Maybe she will do it once to reassure him or cheer him up after JH. But can you imagine his reaction? ๐ Like it would be soooo different to his ex girlfriend who called him that.
Ex-gf, a month earlier: Ooooppaaaaa, I'm sorry ๐ญ TK: Sigh, not her again. ๐ฉ
VS.
Yeondoo, half-cringing: O-oppaaaa? ๐ TK: *gapes and ceases to function for minutes* ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฅต๐ฅโฒ

Yeah I can see the rumor being posted by obsessive otter but CS going all 'disapproving father' on TK buying into an anonymous rumor without questioning it and force both to break up is what I don't believe. Everything else could likely happen as the anon post would typically backfire and lead CS/TK to fail fairy and her connection with JH. So that part is sound. As are TK's doubts of being ready to become a father. Those doubts have to happen for his char development to be believable imo. For it is normal, even if he were the bio dad, to be worried about that life changing challenge of caring for a little human, forever. And for him this is doubly valid given his background and that this commitment requires his active choice for it, this life instead of obligation.

Twitter buddy messaged me and told me. Allegedly there has been a script leak from eps. 29/30. and her friend read her some parts. Dunno if I fully believe in it bc it does sound too clichรฉ and with the dad acting on sheer rumors is questionable and stupid tbh. This would basically destroy his already shaky relationship to TK then, if true. Because he would never forgive CS that seeing how it also leads to YD passing out and endanger Jinjja
I don't want to watch any other show. For me the pickings are pretty slim right now (tried Agency and got about…
Shin Hae Sun is my ultimate queen. I would watch her reading a phonebook, honestly. So i am excited for SYIM19L (what a mouthful lol) bc i know she is gonna slay her role, like always. I also look forward for some light enemy to lovers romcom fun with king the land but that is about as far my excitement for other dramas not being TRHC. I honestly struggle to watch anything atm and then i fall behind and then it becomes overwhelming and then i drop the drama and never look back, whoops. I miss the days where i could finish a show in a few days. Now i am watching a few episodes in a couple of days if i am lucky. Guess it really is my first kdrama slump, lol. (however i have rewatched TRHC scenes and half-episodes an embarrassing amount of times by now, whoops)
And yes, i have changed my avatar to yet another YD/TK one AGAIN ๐

oh gimme? I want to read it either way <3 And i mean at this point we are all basically shooting in the dark and hope to hit, well, something. If the spoilers are true it can go either way, really. For good or for worse, lol
2 eps per week get posted, it seems. if it is available for you, try watching TRHC on the kbs youtube channel…
No prob and good, then maybe try it out :D Sorry i went too much into detail here, i guess. I erased the more spoilery part now so it is safe now to read the rest too, particularly the "survival tips" for it to not get too frustrated heh
I don't think TRHC and My Perfect Stranger gel well as drama to watch if you want more of the same, so to speak.…
Yeeeeah. i love jin ki joo, but i find her character in there super frustrating. All in all i rather rewatch From Now On Showtime to see more of JKJ tbh haha

it is basically about a career woman facing an unplanned pregnancy and navigating impending (single) motherhood with all of its struggles, especially in a very conservative society that shun/condemn her for it. And a marriage, longterm commitment averse man and ob/gyn doc who is the son of a single mother that remarried late into a wealthy family that shun and mistreated him for not being their blood ("just adopted") So he avoids them whenever possible, is estranged to all of them and keeps ppl at arms length in general. Those two meet under the oddest circumstances again and again and help each other. So to get out of their respective predicament with their demanding disapproving families the mutual benefiting contract relationship and 'marriage' is devised.
The leads are very caring, kind people who have a healthy relationship with finding support in each other after being beaten down by life and their families. They grow into easy banter and communicate well with each other after a steep learning curve of living together and generally starting off on the wrong foot . They are so sweet together they give me diabetes while still having enough weight on their dynamic with all the possible angst/conflicts to come, particularly regarding FL's child.
Tips when watching:
1) This is basically korean soap opera. Depending on whether or not you have watched family dramas before, you have to expect a different narrative structure and pacing to the regular kdrama shows. However, the writer here does not drag conflicts out and makes characters actually communicate with each other in a sensible fashion. Well, most of the time, anyway. Nonetheless there are over the top situations such as hairpulling, screeching, crying, scheming, manipulative villains (SFL/Joseon Granny) etc all the overt nonsense you find in a makjang. Just roll with it. It also settles down tonally into softer melo later on. Stages and sets are pretty olden days (well, okay ugly) since family dramas have lower production quality and budget than regular glamorous kdrama. Plus appealing to the nostalgic factor for the often middle-aged korean viewers tuning in, I guess)
2) Characters evolve more slowly but realistically, into a good and bad direction than in regular kdrama, due to the screentime and larger amount of eps available. This also means they are all at their worst selves at the start of the drama. The ML now is a fully other person than he was at the start, same for FL's family, for example. You have to have patience with a LOT of them, but the payoff will be worth it.
3) It is day to day storytelling. Meaning little time passes in all the episodes. We accompany the characters through each continuous day/night cycle, see what they are doing each day. Keep this in mind when wondering why the leads act like strangers around each other at times. Because they literally are. From the moment of their cohabitation and start of contract to episode 20 only three weeks have passed in the story, even though these are 10 eps to watch for you (after the first 10, setting it all up.) Hence why the romance feels starting late between the leads, but it is actually happening fast. Their romance arc has only started now (eps 20 and up,) with a lot of hindrances still in their way, of course. (if you like the male chasing female first trope, oh gosh you are right here, because does ML Taekyung ever deliver on that with a golden retriever-like eagerness, lol)
4) Do not get worked up by asshole characters too much or you will have a very bad time. It is best if you see Joseon Granny and SFL for the clowns they actually are and never take them too seriously. They are cartoonish/over the top mustache-twirling for exactly that reason. But in truth they are just narrative tools to create conflict and in SFL's case bring the leads (closer) together. Without them, the leads would have never met, as FL would have married her then bf and ML would have stayed a forever bachelor estranged to his family. There would be no story. So keep this in mind whenever they are clowning on your screen with their kindergarten lvl of schemes and being shitty ppl, heh.
5) You will like some characters more than others and that is okay. Try not to get hung up on their scenes, because each of them gets their share of screentime to advance their respective arcs. Just roll with it or fold laundry during it or something haha. Your opinion and lvl of care on/about them could change over the long course of the story as they develop as characters.
Hope you enjoy it tho, it is a long haul commitment, but imo the leads are so so worth it. Cute and healthy dynamic af, especially later on with how they defend/help/communicate with each other etc.

I would not call TRHC a calm show, lol. Im not sure if you are familiar with family dramas but they are more or less a special breed of kdrama, where character development is slower but steady, and generally its pace is different. Lemme give a rundown of it, plus some weekend drama survival tips should you decide to watch:

The only thing stalking stunk is layered with is stupidity, delusion and shit lbr.
