oof i just got out of my kdrama procrastination period and was about to hit play for ep 8 but then i saw the plethora…
i have yet to finish it but dragging my feet bc i feel it got a bit stupid plot-wise. Do Hwan is still very much entertaining in each of his scenes, so there is that. Very much worth it for his acting. The romance started out cute but once princess has had her head in her ass about her identity it went downhill and lost its spark for me. Plus Bona's complete lack of expressions is really off putting (and the dead fish kisses do not help here either) I still love the cooky out of the box way Hansu goes about winning his cases but the second part is definitely more frustrating to watch. I will finish it bc i only have 3 eps left now. Up to you, friendo.
OMG Iβm so glad I was also curious and decided to rewatch cause Iβm waiting for next weekend. I kinda went…
Indeed first time he falls in love and he turned into such a whipped king so fast. Bless. It is almost like he just waited for the right person to "change his mind" about marriage and love while also not expecting it to ever happen to him. His 'head empty only Yeondoo' state of being is so endearing bc he has so much love to give and you just know he is going to be the best partner and husband to Yeondoo who deserves all that love and good after what she has been through π₯°π₯°π₯°
One thing that amused me during a rewatch is how we see TK take care for a patient's baby during the first episodes and he was quite 'what the heck do I do with her now?' the whole time, but still did a fantastic job overall, very caring. These whole scenario of him carrying a kid strapped to his chest around while in his office was actually a nice writer's *winkwinknudgenudge* preview into TK' s future π€ Another was when he was outside with Yeondoo, and an elderly couple told them how they make such a nice family/how the kid looks like mom/dad, haha. These scenes really hit different now where you know he is going to be a father himself, heh.
Oh would be great if you keep it up to date, but imo it already helps if you post the timeline you have worked out now and add to it when needed βΊοΈ
OMG Iβm so glad I was also curious and decided to rewatch cause Iβm waiting for next weekend. I kinda went…
Well yeah that DNA thingie certainly is happening after birth but with fuckboi ex JH coming back around eps 23, I think the attempts of obsessed otter to 'expose them' will increase and thus also the focus on jinjjas paternity. Ofc stupid stalker doesn't see that it matters zero to Taekyung whether or not he is the bio dad, because he loves Yeondoo and the child either way. So whatever iq amoeba is planning with JH is as always doomed to fail and only serve for TK to fight like hell for his own little family and happiness. It will just bring them closer together.
Oh and in the kr/Netflix intro, both lead actors get animations where their prior things are exchanged for baby equipment. For TK it is alcohol bottles exchanged with baby bottles etc, so the intro alone shows he is meant to be the father in every way but genetically, (which as you said love for a child beyond blood ties is one of the show's main themes.) And that the show will indeed go into the childrearing part. Only when and at what point is the question here tho, heh.
ep 1-10 is ok but ep 11-18 is frustrating, but the lead stop me from dropping this show :')
Oh same. But at that point neither of them wanted that and it also would have been a too easy fix for too many story conflicts. So you knew it could not happening. And I'm certain they wanted the leads to keep from it in order to have them marry for love later on. I would love tho, now where they truly date, if they would go back to the city hall in the coming drama months (aka before the birth of jinjja) and register their marriage for real, so they can't be torn apart by outer forces anymore. They could leave the big wedding ceremony for after childbirth then. Would make a good ending for the show too and making Taekyung come full circle π€
OMG Iβm so glad I was also curious and decided to rewatch cause Iβm waiting for next weekend. I kinda went…
Yeah, i think too they may time-jump once the main conflict aka The Paternal Lieβ’οΈ is out in the open and addressed in their families and they have established the relationships. So it may be pretty late in the drama, but i would love to see that for a bit at least. It is funny of how in one of the first episode TK taking care of a patient's baby basically served as a glimpse into his own future, hehe.
Plus now where the contract and three months deadline is no longer they also do not need to slavishly hold to day to day storytelling either. So maybe we get small timejumps of days and weeks here and there to inch closer and faster to the birth date once the leads are truly established as real couple. I would also love for them to go back to that city hall and register their marriage for real while having the big ceremony after Jinjja is born. I have no idea what they are going to do for the remaining 30 eps, but i still can't wait to see it :D
When he don't give much information she's starts to investigate by herself is when she discover that her father…
Sure. Doesn't however explain her complete lack of common sense and ability to stop and think instead of jumping to the worst, most brainhared assumption and conclusion possible tho π Sorry but FL really ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, mildly put π
ep 1-10 is ok but ep 11-18 is frustrating, but the lead stop me from dropping this show :')
Yeeees. Also they have really a knack for being able to pick up on what the other is doing/trying to say with just a glance toward the other (excellent non-verbal communication, hence why i said one shared brain cell π) and both are quite quick-witted and able to adapt to new situations/fast in spinning a new lie (the fetus name is a prime example, but also their mutual clownery to not have to register their marriage lmao)
Except when it comes to their own (romantic) feelings, there they are both equally dumb hahaha, but hey at least TK took the leap now and i am sure YD will soon follow. They are overall quite the force to be reckoned with when they work together, because again, one shared brain cell π So we hopefully see more of that now where their relationship is (becoming) real :D
TL;DR: They complement each other so so well and were long #somarried already when they were still faking it π
When he don't give much information she's starts to investigate by herself is when she discover that her father…
true, at least there was that haha. I still think it is ML doing most of not all the heavy lifting and she is just wide-eyed stringing along. I love JKJ but I have a hard time with her character/how she is written in here, ngl. Probably also why the romance is doing nothing for me. Oh well. Her parents are kinda cute tho :D
Does FL ever (starts to) think for herself or does ML have to spell out every single detail of the events to her, no matter how obvious it is? I find the obtuseness of her character incredibly frustrating tbh.
OMG Iβm so glad I was also curious and decided to rewatch cause Iβm waiting for next weekend. I kinda went…
Also You may want to preserve this comment as a forum post, always good/handy to have :D Given that the nights are more or less successive in that timeline it means it only took Taekyung to go from many years of "me, getting/being married and a father? NEVER. Bachelor FOREVER!!!!" to "why is this woman hitting on me, a married man and father to be? Preposterous!!!! I only love my wife and our kid, My wifey is the best. YEONDOO YEONDOO YEONDOO YEONDOOYAAA!ππ" in two to three weeks tops. And i could not love this any more. How fast the night changes indeed π π π
well then... it is not as though someone is holding you at gunpoint and forces you to watch it, after all. Should this be the case however, blink twice. We may be able to help.
ep 1-10 is ok but ep 11-18 is frustrating, but the lead stop me from dropping this show :')
Funny i was annoyed by the show in the beginning with YD's fam being horrible and TK's fam being horrible and too many asshole characters, but then come to love it later on (when YD did save him by the bell(y) at the wedding.) The only part i found suffocating was when they moved in and we spent so much time in the gong house and all its assholes it felt like being grounded. So basically episode 10-13. Episode 15 was another low due to too much fiasko fairy having all the free reign and TK being too much of a distant jerk in there.
It all got better from episode 16 onward. TK's several oh shit why is my heart racing when yeondoo is close/touching me-panic and his over the top husband era including jealousy (in eps 18) accumulating in the confession now have never not amused me. In fact, this dork is shaping out to become one of my most favorite ML's.
I was ride or die for the leads from the start bc i love their dynamic of starting off on a wrong foot bicker bicker to partners in crime (contract) sharing one brain cell and their support for each other to "we are not married we are just pretending but also acting exactly like a married couple to OH SHIT I AM IN LOVE HOW DID THAT HAPPEN so much, ngl π But the recent focus on them/their relationship made it all the better. And now i am as obsessed with this drama as sasaeng sissy is with stalking TK π
Seems outside the currently airing weekend drama (TRHC) i am obsessing over i am a bit in a kdrama slump bc this is already the second show where i fail to connect to any characters and their story. Oh well, but unlike with the good bad mother and its plethora of asshole characters i am actually still interested to see where this story goes (catching up atm), if on 2x speed, lol.
i really hate that i started this drama so late. i just want to skip over all of the foolishness going on right…
I'm not sure if you have watched family/weekend dramas before but I have found that it helps to have patience with its different pacing compared to 'regular' kdrama. And of course at the start all characters are still very work in progress and some even their worst selves. ML Taekyung for example from episode 20 is a whole different person than he is at the start, even if you already see glimpses of his potential and kindness back then. And if you think FL Yeondoo is a passive doormat oh boooooi are you in for a surprise later on. Same for her fam horrible at the beginning but very supportive later on.
Plus the beginning of the drama is pretty much over the top and screechy makjang in parts but imo it really settles down with its screechiness later on. Not taking joseon granny nor obsessed olivia (sejin) seriously helps a lot with its enjoyment too tbh. Weekend dramas are always the kind of shows that require patience from the viewer as it takes times for things to develop and it is up to you if you want to give it, but I would recommend you to.
OMG Iβm so glad I was also curious and decided to rewatch cause Iβm waiting for next weekend. I kinda went…
Yeah the scooter of death, lmao, Another subversion of typical kdrama tropes or rather lampshading of the writer π
Also YD stopped being nauseous along the way, so i think she is much closer to four months preggo than three and in the second trimester. I don't think it is fully four months yet since this contains the "baby movement milestone" and i am pretty sure they would want to use feeling jinjja moving as a (bonding) moment between YD and TK and their kid. I hope we get an official timeline or hint about it soon tho. And i agree that she should stop wearing such tight jeans at the very least to indicate a growing belly, however small it is.
Edit: Nvm, child movement happens "typically" in the 20th week which i meant to begin with. So it is five months, because obviously 4x4 is 16 and 4x5 is 20. Apparently I am too tired and dumb to count correctly tonight, lol. Point still stands that it (hopefully) will be used for a scene between the leads and i would love to see it. I think she could be in the 15th week now, give or take.

Oooooh, noiiiiice Good good summary, but i think there was a timejump in between the events you missed. Because when YD is brought to the ER by lying leprechaun, the examination says she is 12 weeks preggo, if i remember that correctly. And this wwas before a lot of the events you listed above. ;)

Woo Do Hwan, in every scene: *acts his heart out, emotions on point*
Bona, in every scene: πππππππ
