Crown Prince died so there was no officially elected heir to the throne...Current Dowager was the Empress at that…
Which is also weird for me. I feel like his father as the crown prince should’ve already established himself and gained the majority court support. Unless he was also disliked as the crown prince. Btw, the queen dowager actress is really beautiful. First time seeing her in a drama.
I have a question for novel readers: if the second male lead was the son of the late crown prince, why didn't he inherit the throne? Why is the queen dowager so powerful that she seems to have control over everything, and why was there no war before the next emperor took the throne?
It’s so nice seeing MXY’s POV. It was shown nicely. It broke my heart when they showed that YL was talking to herself. I love both leads so far. I hope they get a proper revenge.
Unpopular opinion: I'm just not feeling the hype for this one. The romance lacks chemistry, the characters feel…
As someone loving this, yup the plot is mid. Lol
But if you need to watch a feel good romcom, with beautiful people and unrealistic setting that makes your heart flutter, makes you smile like you’re crazy, with that old kdrama vibe, this is it!
It has that forget reality moments in it. That’s why it’s popular😉
A prime minister has many issues to deal with. But, this PM seems to linger around the palace every hour. A PM…
My thoughts exactly! Lol! They made him seem like a royal secretary. Like all these scandals, I don’t think he should handle this personally. I’m sure there should be a team responsible for those.
The way he was trying to meddle in their affairs even in the middle of the night was funny. And it was amusing when the grand prince and princess were sitting across from him in his office. It’s like a father reprimanding his children.
Like isn’t there anything more important to do in that country?! Maybe it was a peaceful version of Korea.
If he releases the official verdict of the late king all their problems will be solved. He can protect them all. His nephew isn’t even happy being king. I bet it’s better for him to just be a kid first. I don’t understand what’s holding him back at this point. And all this time being reagent and bidding his time, he haven’t made any connections apart from his secretary?!
Anyway, I need to remind my self that this is a romcom and should not expect a deep plot from this. Ughhh this episode is such a downer.
My main suspect is the PM, and he’ll be the main villain. After the palace investigation he got hold of the marriage contract and the verdict of the late king as well.
But there could a plot twist. It could be Ian himself that leaked it. It’s all part of his plan to bring order to the monarchy and he’s working with the PM.
Maybe it’s just me, but after watching ep 7 and 8 I have this feeling that the PM will be the main villain. I really hope I’m wrong.
Btw, it’s funny how drop dead gorgeous are the queen mother and the PM in the royal wedding. I can’t completely hate them, their pretty privilege is ooozing. Lol
Second male lead and his sister have a special place in hell! Always trying to look pitiful, but with hidden agenda. Using “love” to justify their selfish actions.
I initially thought episode 5 and the start of episode 6 were already the peak because of how well they complemented and understood each other. Plus, they were so sweet at the ball. But then, that ending of episode 6, hit just right! pure 🔥🔥! Funny that It took us all by surprise.
I love how the preview didn’t spoil anything; some K-dramas reveal the best parts in the next episode’s trailer, but this one keeps us on our toes! I’m also really enjoying the epilogues. Now I feel like 12 episodes are just too short for this!
The prime minister and the queen are absolutely gorgeous. I feel like I should dislike her, and worry about what damage he might cause in the future, but I just can’t help it...
Here’s my theory: I think the brother left a will (not the one burned by the queen) stating the grand prince should be king. Ian might be holding back because he loves his nephew. I wanted him to become king, but since this is a rom-com, he might even give that up for his adorable nephew and his new love.

Imagine if the grand prince is ugly and just standing there doing nothing. Lol

I don’t even know this actress, but even beside IU, she stands out.
