ZLH perfected this role. The desperation in his face and voice when he was saying all the reasons for JXN to stay, even his druggie and evil look. You can feel his emotions. XW deserved to be happy too. Thank you novel readers for all your spoilers. If I didn’t know the ending, that scene might have broken my heart.
I’m so happy that this show is still very consistent. No filler episode and every time I watch it, there’s always something unexpected. I love that the villains are smart and they can also fight well. I love that the characters here aren’t perfect and don’t tend to predict everything that will happen. I even love the side characters. Each of them has a purpose and they characterized it well.
I hope this will continue till the end. XW and JXN arc is just about to start and I still cannot wait for the next episodes to come out.

Jiang's daddy- His love for his family is admirable. He treats his daughters fairly and always fights for their happiness. That’s why I don’t understand how he could send his other family to the countryside. It’s very unlikely that that is his decision.
JXN- Very consistent with her motivations. We may not agree with her decisions and the consequence may not agree with her, but I do understand where she’s coming from. I feel for her because, in this life, she tried to fight with destiny. But fate always has a way to get to her. No matter how much she endeavored to change it, occurrences would happen sooner than she expected. (We have a very witty writer)

She’s trying to make up for what she did in her previous life. So instead of betraying her family and close friends, in this life she’s willing to sacrifice herself to protect them. She’s fighting against fate and wants to give a better ending to the people around her.
I honestly thought this emperor was different. He may be weak physically but he has a mind of his own. He is scheming, suspicious and not easily manipulated by his family. Not even his mother can control him. I actually liked him because that’s what emperors do to stay in power. He was a breath of fresh air from other dramas were emperors fall into the family trap or their close adviser.
