when the original plot where ML broke up with FL in order to save the company, and follow his mother I thought that’s already questionable bec why does he needs to break up with her i just don’t get it, but…
this change where Gorya actually believes it’s better for old Thyme to run a company was just plain stupid. Gorya saw how the whole red card unfold, how it only brings enemies and monster out of people, why did they make her character so stupid to think it’s better for old Thyme to run a company rather than a change Thyme??? even if Thyme steps in to his mother’s shoes, a good heart brings good allies, and partnership just like what Thyme says, so I just don’t get the whole logic of bringing back old Thyme in order to fill in his mother’s place.
I used to really enjoy the changes of this show, the whole part where Gorya tells the mother she may lose but Thyme will win bec he has humanity and he will never love his mother, that was so good until… yeah
either way, I love Gorya’s silent cry in the train, that was just really good.
when you finally get a kiss and I was screaming then it’s the most anti-climatic long awaited kiss.
I’m pretty sure half of people who had first kiss isn’t that underwhelwing, I know they were supposed to be inexperience, but kiss isn’t just an act, it’s an expression.
I would rather have them just have a pressed kiss than a kiss that moves their mouth but it looks like a fish trying to grab food that’s going down the aquarium. He was kissing the side of her lip and air ugh this is why I can’t trust Male directors when it comes to romantic scenes.
Also most first kiss when you didn’t felt your partners lips, you go ahead and find that perfect angle that works for both of you. just saying.
Bright and Ren acting ain't very good. Actually bad at times
felt this with Tu as well especially with all the screaming while crying, I notice the stark difference when Milk(Lita) was crying and explaining how she hates Thyme to her parents, you can tell the restraint, the pain, she is a much better actress for sure.

if this is really what they are going for, then that is just a huge dissapointment and false marketing because first of all this is a remake of a successful romance genre manga. This story’s main core was the relationship of Makino (Gorya) & Domyouji (Thyme). The character growth being added was just another piece of the puzzle. If you are taking the main core of the story then make your own story and not be a version of such.
To be honest, I have watch/read quite a few stories of coming of age & romance. A good writing balances these two important elements of the story. I don’t understand why the romance has to be sacrifice in order for “growth” to be told. Few examples of popular series that does well with balancing these elements are… Cdrama: A Love So Beautiful, Put Your Head On My Shoulder, Wait My Youth. Kdrama: Our Beloved Summer, Reply 1988, Twenty Five Twenty One. (just few examples)
This version had done such a great job showing growth from ML Thyme, Ren, Hanna, Talay, Lita… we have yet to see development with Gorya and this is where my main problem with how this storytelling took route. Gorya has becoming such a 2 dimentional character. I fail to see depth of her character. She is just this strong female lead who is nice and worries about everybody from Ren to Lita to Kanning.
We are down to 4 episodes and what do we know about Gorya’s goal in life? what does she enjoy in life? what are her hobbies? her fear? we are in cycle of being spoonfed how nice she is and how she always just put others before herself but is that all she’s going to be?
another dissapointing character which I dearly love on all version (despite the fact that japan version kinda ruins her character at the second half) is Kaning’s character. Kaning character has always been the eye opener to FL character, she is the one who give FL the point of view that she can’t see, she provides as her outside point of view, but in here she is just a bestfriend who is “I trust my friend, whatever her decision” and just a pair for Kavin.
Yuki (Kanning)’s substance was she is able to question the FLs decision, it makes the FL see another point of view. When FL open up to her and say “it hurt to see them (ML & Sakurako/Hanna) together” which in this version “it hurt when I saw the look of his eyes” Yuki had told Makino how love can happen unexpectedly, but Kaning was like, you’re tired just sleep it off like huh?? also during the double date Yuki was able to tell her bf probably have said something to piss off Domyouji and tell Makino this but here Kaning was like don’t blame yourself it’s Thyme’s fault ughh, another was during date with Rui, Makino is like it’s awkward and Yuki points out how she must be falling for ML since she is comfortable with him, but in this version Gorya never confide with her regarding her growing feelings for Thyme.
These little things may not be a big deal to others but to me it’s what makes their friendship so realistic and not just I’m here to support you, the depth has been taken away.
This gives me conclusion on how this version maybe good in portraying character growth, but they fail to portray relationship, because other than F4 friendship, the rest of the relationship felt shallow. They are doing such a great job in the beginning but the second half of the show just felt like a drop. Some can argue it’s the subtleness, no that’s just bad writing to me when you are making audience play detective when that’s not the genre of the story.
I have defended this series even when the controversial ep 7 scene came out, also Thyme & Gorya started them having coversation much more than other version does, but somehow along the way, this version has lost it’s way in building relationship rather settles in theories and preaching.
Only 6 epis left. I wonder how they will fit all other scenes. & arcs. I just hope they dont rush things out too…
I remember watching Princess Hours thai version were there’s no kiss scene at all bec apparently the female lead has no kiss scene contract. Tu is young, my biggest fear is that they would have just one more kiss scene at the end. aand with the way things are going, this seems possible.
Chinese dramas are just the best in giving the most amount of romantic scenes from cuddles, dates, just pure happy couple moments. Sad looks like we aren’t getting any of those here.
I’m kind of dissapointed with Gorya’s reaction to Thyme-Lita kiss. This was one of the gut wrenching moment of HYD and shows so much of FL’s feeling…..and I felt nothing from the scene.
I was very much pleased with the earlier episodes of this version, I’m now not sure with all the going circles. The whole bullying ark could have been condensed more. Six episodes left got me thinking, Gorya might confessed her feelings to Thyme like Jandi which is the hospital. ughh that’s the most unromantic way out of all version. then giving necklace in same episode? I can’t wrapped my head around this. then after giving neclace, next ep will be break up again? I look at Gorya & Thyme’s outfit at the scene where he gave him necklace, same outfit of break-up in the rain.
Thyme & Gorya just don’t even have a tiny happy romantic moment yet, so much more to cover in 6 episodes. They are trying to condensed the much more important ark of the show.
One of the funniest reaction I’ve seen during the scene where Lita is telling Gorya she might have fallen for Thyme already, it’s them asking Lita if she didn’t have twitter? why did she not see all the #ThymeGorya lol
but then I remembered Lita does have twitter, she was twitting at the beginning of the episode saying how boring life is. I wonder if she intentionally approached Gorya because she have seen all of the ThymeGorya. Girl admitted she has been searching about him.
though I do think she wanted to befriend Gorya because she went against Thyme? and she probably wanted to see if she can get out of the engagement, but didn’t expect herself to fall for Thyme. You know what’s sad? it’s Thyme trying to fit and understand her world because he love her that much. Even if it’s exhausting, he is trying his best to be with her and her brother.
Gorya had one day glimpse of his world, and she’s already exhausted. She didn’t even try. She saw another person who suits him and she gave up.
We really have gotten into the part where I’m on the same situation like in all other version where I started rooting for ML & Fiancee.
Glakao made me cry, he’s grown attach to Thyme. Thyme was such a big brother to him. Helping him with his scraf, breakfast, he fell and he carries him, Thyme and Glakao really bonded together. He made sure to escape in order to not missed sending him on his way to his parents.
It got me sobbing so bad when he cried missing Thyme, and how he said Thyme would make everything funny. Thyme had build himself to their family.

One thing to describe the ep today. It’s chaotic lol Thyme is chaotic, moving in near Gorya so he can protect her but she did the most protecting, Gorya being done with Thyme but his simple gestures makes her heart flutter. Lita literally running around so she can avoid the whole fiance thing (who will soon fall in love with the said fiance).
Can I just say fiance is so pretty, like everyone is this cast is just too pretty, I’m getting eye candy every frame of this cast.
Bright looks amazing with his forehead showing and simple pink tee. Tu is so pretty even when she pulling her hair out of frustration, and that scene of them where Thyme open his eyes, her smile is just legit making things to my heart. Milk intro with that dress and sneakers ahhh don’t wanna overused pretty but ughh so pretty.
Cindy and Maria in one frame is just wth why so gorgeous people?? and the rest of F4 and Kanning ugh this cast.

Domyouji who sent minions to rape Makino was no better than Thyme who almost punch Gorya. Domyouji who never said sorry to his wrong doings is still as toxic, they may have not shown that scene but they may as well did.
As an author/writer, how do you make this character the same but different, how do you correct what’s been done and show a character so dark and walk through his redemption. It’s 2022 but bullying is still very much present, violent acts are even more present in this day than before.
stories in any form is used what you want to convey. We have seen a character grow, but is this character capable to go back to his dark self? yes very much so. So how do we trust this character to not be swallowed in dark? it’s for the character to choose not to. It’s when a character choose to be better.
It’s very common for girls to get attracted to story of a girl changing a guy, but it needs to be said that the change doesn’t come from the girl itself, the change comes from the guy’s decision to change. You can do all the fixing you want, if the guy itself doesn’t choose to do so, it’s a lost case.
In the moment of Thyme being swallowed by darkness, did he see the light? he did, he was about to punch her but at that moment he was able to controll himself back.
Yes they could have easily take it out, but instead of wondering, will the male lead ever be able to hurt the female lead, here is your answer, he can’t, even with that rage, hatred, he is not able to.

I’m hoping Gorya isn’t gonna wait an entire 16 episode to confess, still pisses me off till this day how Shan Cai of 2001 waited that long to tell Dao Ming Si her feelings, and not to mention Shan Cai of 2018 was a whole dragged. BOF, Jandi’s confession is just not satisfying overall.
Everyone forgets that the other F4 members are as much of a bully as Thyme, that they enjoy that little game as he does, even Ren who doesn’t say anything has his share on it. Thyme maybe leading them, but they hold as much power and wealth. You can’t tell me Ren is quiet, he doesn’t like what his friends does, he isn’t powerless like other students that can’t stand up to them.

They all go and watch bullies on that little zone they have, but of course Thyme is the only bully we see.
F4 gives the greenlight on who gets to bully, but all students doing the deeds are all bullies. We don’t give them the same crap. They all need to straighten up not just Thyme.
