I'm going to watch this drama 1,000 times...I just know it
totally my fav too. I'm still praying for someone to make films of Anne McCaffery's Dragonriders of Pern series! :) Before I die! Better than Rooftop for me, but honestly, I try not to compare dramas anymore. I'm old. After so many years of film and almost 5 years of K, I TRY to just find the joy in every show or film I watch and not criticize too much...especially so early in the show's episodes. I'm a bit frustrated with the negativity on this one. But I also try to ignore that...because no one's opinion but my own really makes a difference when watching a show or reading a book! :)

Yeah, really me too (I won't live long enough for 1,000)...for the gorgeous cinematography, the lovely story with such a great balance of joy and pathos, the wonderful cast, and just over the top production of this show. And, for me, the happiness of a well done sci fi fantasy show, with excellent CGI that isn't OTT or intrusive, but just FITS. It's my favorite genre so I'm ignoring all the haters and just enjoying the ride and appreciating the enormous amount of work that went into this. I hope they make a bundle off this because I'm betting it cost a fortune. And we won't be seeing more of these kinds of show unless they make money off them.

Didn't invent the wheel here. Highly Predictable, VERY melo, B movie. Not much to it. Not horrible. Not all that good either. Just okay for me. 7-7.5 or so

Gorgeous to look at, erotic, dark, fascinating. But soft porn is soft porn, no matter how pretty or beautifully…
Well, both of us are obviously 'wrong'! It was just voted Best Foreign Film by LA film critics. We obviously have no taste! :( Sometimes when this happens to me...when I don't like or do like a film that most others have an opposite reaction to, I wonder what it is that is or isn't resonating with me that so many others are seeing or feeling that I am not. Was I in the wrong mood that day? But...I just don't care enough to go back and watch it again to find out. However, if you were nearby and felt the same, we could watch it together and perhaps find out! :) lol

Very good film, well written and acted and terrific sets and cinematography. A lot of attention to detail in this one. It's DARK and scary, but not OTT dark and scary. Just enough to give goosebumps and a bit of pounding heart. Really enjoyed it a lot! 8.5/10
On A Man Called God Dec 7, 2016
I am all over the place on this one. On the good side, I found it loads of cheesy fun and surprisingly addictive considering...the bad side. This thing was at least 6-8 episodes TOO LONG. They beat the premise to death when they had at least a ghost's chance to resolve it with some degree of believability. But then they spent the last episodes dragging their feet over the main conflict, going back and forth with the good guy and bad guys exchanging 'wins' that were totally unexplainable, completely undeveloped and out of the blue, and completely nonsensical. There were enough plot holes to drive the White Truck of Doom through! The idiotic ending just had my eyes rolling. So cartoonish. Not that the core resolution of who dies and who doesn't wasn't completely predictable (except maybe one), it was just the way they handled it that cheapened it and made it eye-rollingly cheesy. Still...the good outweighed the bad. I still enjoyed it overall...just ended up ff through A LOT of the last half dozen or so episodes....mostly the overused fight scenes. The fact that I never put this on hold and marathoned it straight through means there was 'something' (what, I still cannot figure out) that kept me wanting to keep watching. 7/10 pushing it.
Good movie, better morality (or lack of) tale. It was quite an adrenaline rush throughout the thing. Certainly an expose type story of just how disgusting the media of today is and how gullible the public is to believe them...but what else is new? No redeeming people here, everyone deserves some kind of condemnation. Still, I enjoyed the ride. 8/10

Title The Silenced
Watched it on Netflix 'because it was there'. It appeared to be horror genre, which I'm not fond of but I love the cast. Really really enjoyed it. Cinematography was outstanding. One of the most beautifully filmed movies I've seen, gorgeous sets and even more stunning scenery. Production value on this is definitely 10/10. The story isn't new, but they made it interesting to watch and didn't beat the horror/sci fi stuff to death nor make it comical which I really appreciated. Acting was very good, but the cast ensured that. Overall, it's about an 8.5 or 9 for me because I really enjoyed this film. I defaulted to the higher 9 because of the attention to detail in this one. Probably a bit high, but if I enjoy watching something and feel good about it afterwards, I like to add a bit for the entertainment value.

Insanely good. Never seen such a naturally real relationship in a kdrama before. I, like others, find it not too…
oh thanks for that. I dearly love to read articles where the director, writer, and or actors talk about the drama/film and the characters, so I appreciate you sharing this info very much!
On So Young 2: So You're Still Here Nov 29, 2016
Wow. Really bad acting on Kris Wu's part. Embarrassingly so. Someone also needs to teach that boy how to kiss too. He is so awkward it's uncomfortable watching him. All of the so called 'romance' in this seemed to be him clumsily attacking her. He is far from ready for this kind of lead role. And scenes requiring strong emotions from him were just so forced, obviously so. Strangely, the rest of the movie and the rest of the actors were actually quite watchable. Lovely to look at too. It's not a movie I'd recommend to anyone, but it could have been much better (for me) with a different lead.
On Something about 1 Percent Nov 26, 2016
Insanely good. Never seen such a naturally real relationship in a kdrama before. I, like others, find it not too hard to believe these two have something going on together outside this show. Even if they don't, the level of writing for their relationship, dialogue, and interactions is great, but it is overshadowed by how intense the chemistry of these 2 was and how well and how naturally they played it.
ok. Comedy, straight up comedy like 90% of this was, isn't my favorite genre. The jokes get old, they beat them to death, the 'classes' were overkill...a plot device that was good for maybe one time for 5 minutes used over and over. Still, it had its moments. Using a weather man as the goat is perfect. Precipitation chances are 0-100% and those are numbers we can stand behind. :) Do you know what the similarities of a husband and a weather center are? Watch to the end and you will find out.
