Title Another Way
It was only released on 1/19/17 so too early for subbed version to show up, but.... I just hope someone will sub it! Fearful it will go under the radar.

Nothing new in this. I was expecting more given the enormous amount of attention, hype, and huge delays building up to this drama. I also expected some exciting research and treasure hunts in the future to give this thing a more modern feel, but it just seems to be going with the same old same old tried and true sageuk which is taking up 90% of the story.... nasty people in power stepping on the poor and downtrodden and winning all the time. Pure and perfect heroine fighting the good fight, always taking the high road. Everyone NOT saying what should have been said years ago thereby building up more (fake) tension and upset...and not forgetting our psycho wanna be girlfriend ( I wish the Ministry of Banishment in the censorship dept could banish that irritating cliche!!!) :) NOTHING new or fresh in any of this.

It is lovely to look at, but I find myself walking away to do things (put a load in the dryer, get a soda or coffee, go to the bathroom, whatever) and not even bothering to pause it. It's depressing to think we are not even halfway through this thing yet! I am fighting to stay focused and hopeful. It's rare I will start a drama and not finish it. But. Ratings are dropping in Korea too. Down from 16% to 10%. That is especially not good since that audience is far more sageuk mad than the international audience. News stories say they are "re-editing it for a "much more engaging and impactful viewing experience", but that alone is very bad news. smh in discouragement.

I find it funny as well that people jump to the conclusion that she may have retired because her husband forced…
Could not agree more. Where is the balance? Why this reverse bigotry? Why all the talk about gender equality, etc? Why isn't the idea that a young woman might be overjoyed with the idea of living her life with her family instead of her job celebrated instead of being looked at as if she is 'giving up' her life? I would have loved to be able to financially afford to stay home with my son. Every idea I had about the work I did, the job I loved, went out the window the moment I held him in my arms for the first time. I was so thankful we could at least afford for me to work part time. I truly hope that it is her choice and that she will be happy. It's not an easy job being a fulltime mom and homemaker either. And it's amazing to me all the intimate knowledge people know about a person's life and feelings when they've never even met them. :)

This has one of the most beautiful and heartfelt confessions of love I have ever seen. Lee Seo Jin killed it...and me....with his performance. It's very sad that he has not found his own love and family yet. He seemed to connect wonderfully with that marvelous and remarkable young child in this. She was absolutely amazing and stole every scene she was in.

For those that wants to watch with Eng sub. You can watch it on DIA V Live. http://channels.vlive.tv/F3D16B/video
Thank you!
Namgoong Min, Park Bo Gum and a great supporting cast. This was painful to watch. Great writing and terrific acting. Watching the slow progression as life painted him into a corner, he took the wrong turn in the end and trapped himself in a life he will hate to live. His future ....very grim and as a prisoner of it, he will pay for his sin every day of his life. You can't help but feel his agony. He had no real choices...but he never should have gone there with that decision at the end. AAAhhh...SMH. Really good. Definitely watch it.
I loved it. Wonderfully done and sad. I'm not sure I agree with the ending, but oh well. These Specials seem to like the sad endings. Though it's snot all THAT sad...just a little sad. I can see why some might get confused with the jumps back and forth in time. But to help with that, they made her hair darker in the current time, and lighter for the time she was falling in love with him...if that helps. I didn't find the jumps confusing at all. Just know going in to be aware and you shouldn't have any problem. I will love it more because Ki Tae Young is in it. He is a very big favorite of mine and I really miss him as an actor. He hasn't had any good, meaty parts since his brilliant and heartbreaking performance in Scandal.
I'm not sure why the rating on this is so low. I would hope people aren't downgrading it because it's sad because that's not fair. It's actually quite well done. Her acting style in this may not suit a lot of people though as she is way too stiff and numb. I've seen her in several things and she's no ball of fire. But she has gotten better...or maybe this is just how the director wanted her to play that character? Anyway, my chest felt tight all through this. It's a heartbreaking lesson to never let anger rule your goodbyes. I don't know how she is going to forgive herself, but I'm not sure I could forgive myself if I had done the same thing. Very good story, I bumped it up to an 8 to help the overall score, but actually 7/10 for me.

What I LOVED about this drama is that it is so NOT like your typical kdrama! Yes the cliches are there...psycho girlfriend and parents against the match and chaebol jerk lead. But it throws all those cliches against the wall and then beats them to death! These two love and treasure one another. If they argue about something, they work it out...within a half hour and not over 8 episodes! Same with the parent thing. And man do they both unload on the psycho girlfriend! Both of them! Finally a lead female who fearlessly speaks her mind and fights for her place. There is so much about this drama that turns all the cliches on their heads and makes it so fresh and wonderful. And we all know the skinship in this was WAY above and beyond ....at least in any drama I've seen in the past 5 years and 460 dramas!!!

The biggest problem with this drama is that is apparently got chopped to death when MBC dropped it and it ended up without a broadcaster. This drama was passed up by major tv stations and picked up by DramaX, a Korean cable station that normally only broadcasts reruns or variety shows. DramaX is/was a company that was part of Cube Entertainment (iHQ Inc., doing business as SidusHQ). SidusHQ was Baek Seung-Heon's (Ji Soo) representative. Anyway. The show was originally broadcast on a mobile platform late last summer as 8 episodes, then simulcast on DramaX, again as 8 episodes. It was then picked up and subbed by Dramafever who apparently may be the ones who broke it up into 16 traditional episodes (ergo the odd breaks at the end of episodes). At the time DramaX got their hands on it (my opinion here) they did a bunch of editing to promote a couple of their upcomers and cut out scenes to add in the very odd and jarring scenes of the young man and the girl and the singing and random dancing scenes. To the great detriment of this show IMO!!! That's kind of a hodgepodge of info that I found out from searching various articles and blogs and research from online...for what it's worth!!! :) :)

It's too apparent that there were editing cuts made in this, especially if you watch it more than once. The final roll of the credits on ep 16 where you see all the kiss scenes there is one cut from the birthday party she gave him as an example. How I would love to have seen the original version! But, it is also obvious from the wardrobe (which was just awful), to the bad sound, that big budget cuts were made for this which is just too sad. I have tried and tried to find statistics somewhere on how popular this drama was...obviously very based on reviews here and the overall score. But it would be nice to see some actual viewing numbers.

absolutely the definition of heart warming and lovely. One of the best I've seen at showing the unconditional and beautiful love of a family built by 'non-traditional' members. Don't be afraid of the synopsis and her diagnosis. It is handled beautifully without unnecessary ratcheting up of melodrama. Honestly, you who have not seen it need to try it...I guarantee you will be hooked.
