Title Monopoly Spoiler
Lots of bad reviews for this movie. I found it very enjoyable and well done. But. I may just have very bad taste! It's not a 10, but a good 8 for me. I don't get the 2 biggest complaints...it's been done before (well, what hasn't really), and it was too convoluted and confusing. I guess if I had not read all the reviews saying that, then maybe I would have been confused too, but, semi spoiler, if you go into this movie knowing that is it convoluted, knowing there will be a big twist at the end, knowing that nothing is as it seems (well duh...that goes without saying since there is that catch in every single movie like this!!!), then you will be more careful as you watch it and realize nothing that is happening is as it seems and you will be prepared, and understand it all so much easier! And it will still be fun! Also, it is difficult that they keep switching back and forth from past to present, but once you catch on to the rhythm of that, you will be okay.

Very quiet, unusual, quirky, and sweet movie. No hysterics, no over the top passionate love, no screaming fights, none of the 'drama' of dramas nowadays. Enjoyed it a lot. Not great. Just a very nice movie to spend time with. Sui Qi is a gorgeous girl. It flew by. I think I will now watch #2! 7.5/10 for me

pretty bloody and gory and violent. Warning..graphic...very. Including some rape scenes. Like one reviewer said, if you've seen Moss and Bedeviled, you won't be overwhelmed by the violence of this one. Another bloody vengeance tale. and another 7.5 for me. Just okay, with the expected ending, which was good enough with enough suspense and enough vengeance to satisfy the blood thirsty watcher. I wanted to see it for Kim Jeong Hoon (John Hoon).

It was just okay. Beautiful camera work, terrific actions scenes, plenty of fighting, shooting, blood, violence and mayhem. All done excellently...for those of us who like that kind of thing. The story was good also. But, something was missing. Not sure why I did not connect with this film. The back stories of our tormented characters were there, the brothers having to turn against one another was there...and maybe that was it. It was all there, just like it has been in lots of other movies we've seen. I wanted to like it more than I did I guess. 7.5...maybe an 8

Yes Uhm Tae Woong is my favorite too! Equator Man was great for it's cast young and old. But you MUST watch Handphone...edge of your seat, sweating anxiety for all of its brilliant 137 minutes. A psychological thriller that has you questioning...just who is the bad guy??? He was adorably lovable in Can We Love? And conflicted, confused, and real in Valid Love. He's played some really dark characters in his movies. But I wish I could find some of his really old ones where he appears to have played some off the wall oddballs.

Another great article full of familiar faces.

Review Gangnam 1970
Excellent review. Thanks. I have backed out of it 2/3 through to spend some time researching the history of that era. I think it will help me understand more what is going on. I'm completely ignorant of it and all the names being thrown about are very confusing....can't figure out who is with who and why....so I'm researching articles and reviews too. Then will start it over. Love Yoo Ha's movies and this cast so I must give this movie a chance. Your review helped me decide to stick with it. I really want to see LMH transform himself into the 'real' actor I know is inside him waiting to burst out and KRW is one of my MOST favorite actors bar none...still have not recovered from Punch...a defining moment in his career for certain. Thanks again for giving me a much needed boost to go back and try again. Hearing way too many negatives and I'm afraid this was too much info too fast, especially for us international fans who have a much smaller frame of reference for the goings on in this. And the difficulty with the name recognition on Asian names...no Al Capone's or Bugsy Siegel's!!!! :)

Like the story but had to drop it I've found some scenes unnecessary.
If you actually want to delete it, click on the blue "edit" for that movie or drama. When the box pops up look down at the bottom next to the blue UPDATE button. There is delete?!!!!! :) I missed that forever too and my dropped box was getting too big. SOOO happy when I found it so I could clean up my list!

On The Executioner Apr 20, 2015
Good anti death penalty film told from the perspective of the executioners and the mental toll it takes on them. The performances far outclassed the material in this movie though. The script was not bad, it's just that the actors were far better. No Maundy Thursday. Still, thought provoking in it's own way. There are no easy answers to the ongoing debate of the death penalty, but I find it abhorrent that we expect one human being to kill another and have them live with that fact. I don't see how it cannot affect them in terrible ways unless they are no better than the people who perpetrated the crimes in the first place. So the burden that puts on another human being, to perform these killings, is pretty horrific. I cannot imagine, even when sanctioned by the government, and even knowing that the person you are killing is an evil monster, what damage that must do to a person when having to intentionally kill another human being. I suppose there are those who can do such a thing without thought, but....how? As with so many Korean films, the purpose and message behind the film is sometimes more important than the film itself. There are many thought provoking questions that come to mind when the question of the death penalty is involved.

Sweet movie. Worth watching just because Cha Tae Hyun is in it and NSM is actually bearable! (sorry, NOT my favorite actress by a mile) :( Not a great movie, cliche plot, adding a small quirk about the magic eyesight thing to draw you in. But not a total waste of time either. Just a nice sweet movie about some nice people doing not much of anything but being nice to each other and ending nicely.

Cute romantic movie. Enjoyed it as a nice break. Of course more realistic than your average drama with plenty of kissing and hints of sex. Nothing offensive, just fun and nicely done. Crammed a bit too much story into it though, but that may just be me because I am used to dramas. 2 couples' stories would have been nice for more character development, or even 3, but 4 meant short shrift for everyone. It just felt a little hectic.

Title Cold Eyes
State of the art thriller, filled with high tech gadgetry and futuristic police procedures that belie the traditional low tech bumbling that the traditional kdrama police activity normally portrays. From the the first moment to the very last, this film rockets at high speed with never a moment of let up. Deserving of every accolade and all the praise heaped on it. However, this is not a movie for those who don't appreciate all of the aforementioned as the primary focus of their movies. If you want emotional attachment to your characters that is developed by personal histories and romantic interludes, this is not your movie. It is pure, out and out, heart pounding action at a furious pace. I was just in the perfect mood for it. Terrific casting, outstanding direction and camera work. 10/10 for me!

Title A Hard Day
excellent! Heart pounding action that lives up to the best Korean action noir films have to offer. The tension and excitement don't let up for a moment. Acting, writing. direction, stunts, cinematography are all top notch I loved every minute of it. Reminiscent of the great film with Uhm Tae Woong, Handphone,

Yes, who is Ji Soo? Try to google him and nothing but lots of OTHER Ji Soo's. Asian wiki doesn't even show his birthdate. Here's some great pics of him with this article: http://koalasplayground.com/2015/04/01/newbie-actor-ji-soo-makes-an-impressive-scene-stealing-drama-debut-in-angry-mom/

None of the other wiki seem to have anything on him either, but, I did find that koreandrama.org links his name to a new boy band by the name of BTL (Beyond The Limit) set to debut in May. However the name on that site is shown as JiSu and it's difficult finding pics where they are not covering their faces. Check google images for BTL and here: http://omonatheydidnt.livejournal.com/13200219.html?thread=1193949787
They also have a YT video out with their first song....seems they really liked JJ's Mine! And I think they like BAP a lot too! Anyway... if it's the same JiSoo/JiSu I'm not sure.

This show is far darker than I thought it would be. It also contains elements of farce and Action Hero antics. Yet, amazingly, all of this is so well balanced that none of it dilutes any of the darkness, nor the comedy, nor the action scene thrills. To me, this is just amazing! So far, really enjoying it! I just don't want it to go any darker. There needs to be some righteous justice happening soon. There is an overload of bad guys and some of them need to start toppling. I start losing interest when the drama becomes too much about countless times of the good guys being defeated by the bad guys. I like it when they have a few victories for the good guys as things go along.

This won't be a movie for everyone. It is quiet and very very slow to start and to go on. Not a lot really happens, but a lot changes in the lives of the 2 people at the center of this movie. I guess what I will say is that the journey this movie takes you on, though slow and seemingly uneventful, is worth the ride. Life isn't always about drama and heartbreak and overwhelming passion. Sometimes it's about growing, and letting go, and opening yourself to someone new or someone who has been there all along without you realizing it, and that the past is the past, and that giving it up doesn't necessarily mean you are losing something by letting go of it, but recognizing that life has given you something new and precious and worth holding on to instead. It was absolutely lovely to see the 15 year younger versions of this cast. This may be the best thing Kim Hee Sun ever did also!

Great choices...so many....you could go on and on with this segment! I 'd like to see that movie Bicheonmu...finding it will be a problem. You MUST watch History of A Salesman...for Bum Soo and just because it's a GREAT drama!

Loved King and the Clown, but never got around to watching Woo Sung's other dramas/movies for some reason and then Spring Days came. I had no idea. What a surprise he was in this. I struggled with about the first 5 or 6 episodes of Alone in Love...could not connect with those 2. Really didn't care about either of them nor where they were or weren't going. But I hope to catch more of him one day. I hope he does more dramas or movies soon.

I've seen Su Ro in so many movies, I've lost count, but I'd guess about a dozen. Usually the bad guy. Whatever he does, he does well.

JJM...Definitely for me it is Frozen Flower and Better Tomorrow. I've seen him in other things but other than being beautiful, he didn't have the power of the performances he gave in those, for me.

KHH is like Su Ro for me. That ever present guy that inhabits whatever role he plays. They both are fully immersed in their characters. Which is such a pleasure...because I detest those ever present actors who are always just themselves in every single drama they play in, be it modern or sageuk...and we already know of whom I speak!!! ;)
