where oh where oh WHERE is she? And WHY has she disappeared for so long? My curiosity is killing me. I worry there is something wrong. I worry no one is offering her roles because she is approaching that dreaded age of obsoletism in our youth dominated dramas. I Do I Do will always be my favorite...I loved her in it and lusted after her body, clothes and shoes, and fell for Lee Jang Woo hard!....Oh to have them all! Scent of a Woman was More than a typical melodrama of a dying woman. I loved how hard she worked to make her life mean something, and laughed in joy watching her. I also loved how they ended that show...beautifully and unexpectedly well done...and I cried my heart out at the beautiful monologue at the end of that show. S Diary had me in stitches. Watched it 3 times and lmao. I have not seen any of those older ones but She's on Duty and Girl Scouts, neither of which I liked. And yeah Night was just awful...it's like she and LDG just dialed in their performances. Maybe they didn't like each other???

She is so different in everything she does. I have not seen The Five and must soon. This, I know will be a completely different Sun-a and I don't know why I have been putting it off. Maybe because I love her so much in rom com subconsciously I don't want to see this side of her? But I will...soon. I hope HOPE for news of her soon. Fingers and toes are crossed.

Actually of the 20 or so articles I read (all those referenced in the wiki articles on the rape case this was originally based on, plus many of the articles on google search about that case, not one mentions suicide. There was a Supreme court settlement for her and her sister and her mom in 2008 and the above article (although I have NO idea if it is factual) is one I found again, but there were also a couple others I would need to spend more time to dig out.

Many of the articles I read seemed to indicate there was a broad local knowledge of the perpetrators' names. They even mentioned which universities or careers some of them were working in so I just surmised there must be some public knowledge of at least some of the names of these guys. Honestly, it's just my own wishful vindictiveness over the horror of that case that made me rant on in such a nasty way! The articles I read were so horrifying to me that I just couldn't control my anger and upset. I probably shouldn't use this as a forum for that sort of thing....I am shaking again just by talking with you about all of this again!

I rephrased my too wrong statement about my reaction to this movie. Sorry, I didn't word that very well, and I am very obviously in a minority about how the movie was made as it is very highly regarded and has received many many awards and I SERIOUSLY admire it for exposing that old case as well as others that they said this was based on to public view and censure. Like I said, it may just be my mood as I was watching, or just ME! It's obvious the story in this movie caused me to have some pretty serious emotional upset. It's just that, FOR ME ONLY!, HOW the movie is put together was what I didn't particularly like. It's hard to explain and I feel terrible even being critical of such an important movie. It is only ME though and maybe I shouldn't have said anything. because this movie should be watched just because of the subject matter and so people will know about these terrible happenings. So I think I will probably delete my review just because of that!

Thanks for responding! I did need to rethink this....just because of how important the final message of this movie was I'll wait until you have a chance to see this before I delete!!! :)

This is a big blow to the drama world. I'm sure many of us are wearing virtual black. But the fact remains that all the illegal sites like gooddrama live on the edge of extinction on a daily basis. They steal the videos from other sites, both legal and illegal. So it was only a matter of time until this happened...just like dramacrazy and mysoju. It's such a bummer because they had such an enormous library of shows and so many older ones that you cannot find with subs anywhere! One of my friends wondered if it wasn't that horrid pirated version of Gangnam Blues they posted that finally did them in. Dramafever had paid good money to get the rights to broadcast it. While Dramafever has been known to go after illegal sites and been responsible for shutting many of them down, Google has also announced they will be carrying Gangnam Blues on Google Play. They certainly have the power and the money to go after any competition and fast. I wonder if we will ever know the 'real story' of what happened. Whatever, I am very sad today. I had a huge list of dramas and movies that were only available on GD. :(

I suppose it could be. Anything is possible and every report is suspect. I just have a tendency, after all this time of seeing so many contradictory reports about what did or did not happen, and reading netizen comments about what they say 'really' happened (like they were there?!) to err on the side of 'maybe there was a reason or maybe this person is actually innocent'. The Korean media is so messed up on what they report as facts. Just their basic concept of what constitutes a SCANDAL leaves me laughing in horror. Being any kind of a public figure there has to be a nightmare. And gods forbid you slip up on showing proper respect I remember reading about a bitchfest between 2 idol girls about which was a sunbae/hoobae because the younger had been performing longer than the older and both were demanding sunbae treatment! They've shown that in dramas too. It's messed up. I just hope they are keeping a close watch on her in case this is a mental health issue. No matter what, her career is probably over and we don't need yet another suicide among these young stars.

I'm really bummed about this. It's finally starting to get good! The only salvation is the possibility that the ratings soar and they add episodes....maybe? IDK. Viki just put up a notification about it too. And I thought of Chives also. I don't understand the additional 4 episode cut. There is more behind that, I'm sure. Darn, Only 8 more episodes! I too am really feeling for the cast and crew. Imagine how upset they all are!

this just in...it just keeps getting more depressing. We can only hope for a Passionate Love scenario where they suddenly change their minds and ADD more episodes...but dropping 20 and now 4 MORE????
According to a press release put out by Samwha Productions on the afternoon of March 17, "MHTT was originally planned to have 50 episodes, but after intensive discussions between the broadcasting station and the production company over the past two weeks, it has been decided to end the show, which has so far reached episode 18, earlier than planned with episode 26 on April 12."

The statement continued "We ask for your understanding that in the interim we have been busy working out a natural development of the plot line, and determining the starting date of the following show in the same slot, but we can now finally confirm the dates."

The rest is the usual guff about everyone doing their best with the rest of the show despite their disappointment etc etc

Perfect perfect perfect. You have captured it all. I have never seen a kdrama where such a loving couple were so perfectly portrayed. With all their quirks and problems, these two damaged souls found each other and were each other's healing spirits. And yes. For the first time ever in the history of kdrama, words were SPOKEN, feelings were SHARED, HONESTY ruled the conversations. Please please drama writers...take note of the beauty and hope this kind of love story gives your audience. I could (and have) watch this drama over again and again.

It's really too bad this thing tanked so badly in the ratings. It was a perfectly good drama, well written plot, very interesting, moved at a good pace, and the cast was excellent. I don't understand, with Jaejoong's immense popularity, why it could not pull in a larger audience. The episodes were short and that actually helped with pace of the drama. It wasn't a great drama, nor was it awful. Jaejoong continues to improve with his acting skills. I hope he does well with his military time and uses it to strengthen himself and comes out even more powerful at the end of it. Military service can be a huge turning point for a man. I wish him good luck and hope he is successful and happy with the time he spends there.

Lovely drama. Lovely Cast. Lovely message that a family is made from people who love and care for one another and not necessarily blood. Minus one point for the makjang scenario they invented because of the added episodes. Damn all extensions to dramas! Hated it. But, for a makjang drama it did not go as overboard as so many of them do. The acting was not too ott but for the 2 characters they had to have that are always necessary to these kinds of dramas. The Evildoer was not overly evil and the good guys had plenty of screen time to be happy and to win throughout the show instead of every single episode being a constant downer. I loved how they let the women (for the most part) be strong and fight back and actually win once in a while. It was very refreshing.

I keep seeing rumors that this is going to be cut to 30 episodes, but no articles. If anyone finds one, please…
omg...I about died when you brought up PL...THE Drama You Love To Hate! Oh the memories. WHY was I so addicted to that insane show? It was absolutely AWFUL! Yet....there were a few of us in my FB group that just could not stop watching! It was like that proverbial train wreck. And the gawd awful ending! I felt like I had to have lost at least a dozen IQ points by the end of that one! Geez.

I am very concerned for Lee Tae Im also. The environment over there is so scary for these young women. God only knows what a beautiful young girl like her has been subjected to and the stories are hinting at it. I think she hit a wall while she was in the water and something broke in her, poor thing. Same with those poor idiot girls who blackmailed LBH...now they are talking about doubling their sentences? They will be lucky if they don't end up with a suicide at this rate.

And so many dramas you have those eye-rolling moments where the writers do these absolutely stupid things and with even the smallest amount of intelligence any of us drama watchers could have come up with a scenario or solution that made even half an ounce more sense! It's fun to guess where this one will go. If it goes total makjang...well we could go on and on. This writer also did Goddess of Marriage, which I could not stomach after half a dozen episodes and was one of the rare ones my anal self actually dropped. Those of my group that stuck with it spent the entire time on a tirade of bitching about the awfulness of it. So WHY did we even start watching this thing knowing how bad this writer is?

I CANNOT give up on Woon Tak/BSB. I am such a huge BSB fan I am shameless in my willingness to accept a makjang ending for him (thereby admitting my refusal to separate my actor and his role). Yes, it is a failing and I refuse to defend myself. :( I'm at that point in my life and kdrama watching, I want my cake and everything else too! ;) I want him to be happy at the end of this. BSB does the most amazing job of being the conflicted villain...here and in Secret. He just kills it! When I see the difference in him in these 2 roles and Greatest Wedding, it blows my mind. I really think, in his heart of hearts, he would love doing comedic roles more. As bad as that thing unfortunately ended, you could see he absolutely reveled in that role!

This is too fun and too long...I am supposed to be cleaning my house!!!!!

Goo has me fascinated. You KNOW there is a story there. He's after WoonTak...the man and the business. There is definitely an agenda there, and leashed power too. I liked that character very much right from the beginning. But I had hopes for the actor's sake that his part would be a strong one, so it makes me even happier for that reason.

You are so right. Jin is no doormat. She could not survive that household if she weren't a strong woman. Anyone who has watched kdramas for a while knows the song and dance when the DIL moves into the house with the EMIL. You either become a puddle or you survive. Jin is definitely surviving. The 3 year jump was hard to stomach. It actually made the situation more frustrating because you really question how she could be so blind to his evilness and not lash back or even leave after living under all that pressure for that long. It indicates a complacency that is frustrating to the viewer. If it had been a year or so, I think it would have made more sense. But it was so they could age Jung that they did it...still, its a bad writing thing. Like the clone phone. Give me a break. After he finds out she saw it while cleaning, he leaves it on the top of the desk? They should have just gone with that scene on it's own.

I had to laugh when you said NBR is over acting since my friend and I have been bitching about the same thing. She has resorted to her first ever fast forwarding in a drama as a result...she just can't stand her! lmao! It's again with the writing though. They seem to like those kinds of characters in dramas. Sadly, from what we read, she is actually supposed to be the focus of this drama, so I am afraid we are doomed to more screen time with her as the focus and those 2 guys are supposed to compete for her. But we now have hints of a new character, so I'm not sure what's up with that. I presume they are preparing for a new story line (maybe with that sister?), but now with the episode cut? Everything is up in the air. I feel for those writers and really the entire cast and crew. It's got to be very tense! And it's not ALL Lee Tae Im's fault as the rumors were flying early on about episode cuts when the ratings were so low. I'm wondering if this will create enough buzz that will reverse itself now??? It would be hilarious if it suddenly became a ratings hit. But ....please don't add episodes! :(

Finally, given what we know about kdrama, Tak is going to have to pay in karma or real life for his moment of hesitation that ultimately doomed the girls' father to death. I presume that means he will lose Jin and/or perhaps the baby. I don't see how those 2 are going to end up together once Jin knows this. I also don't see how he will ever be willing to allow her to keep his child away from him no matter what. So something has to give. She either forgives or the child dies. Kdrama seems to come down on the forgiveness quotient. He will have a quantum shift, explain and receive forgiveness (after the requisite 'time apart'), and they will end up together. But if the child dies, I think there is a chance he will eventually accept this as his penance, fade away back into loneliness, and the ending will see the girls working in the restaurant, and Goo watching. And waiting. So many ending scenarios. And, as you can see, all of the curiosity quotient goes to what will happen with Jin, since Jung's is set in concrete and will be no surprise whatsoever. We can all see exactly every up and down that is going to happen to her and that restaurant as she battles Woon Tak to her eventual success. Of course with all kinds of support from a chaebol heir, etc etc.

definitely, I think so too. And I hate to rush to judge. Everyone has their breaking points and the conditions these stars have to work under and the pressures they deal with are not easy. Not everyone has the perfect temperament to deal with those pressures either. Who knows what all she was dealing with. I know nothing about her as a person, only seen her in a few things. But I hate listening to bad mouthing based on internet rumors so want to give her the benefit of the doubt. Also, if her health issues also involve mental health problems, she is struggling under even more difficult circumstances....not saying she is...just IF. So before everyone starts calling her names and destroys her career, I wish they would not rush to judgement.I kinda liked where her character was going with the non traditional love interest. You would expect them to have some stud type for her. I think her relationship with Pyo is very sweet. He is mature and understanding of her, something a younger man would not be, and something her disturbed and unstable character needs.

I agree that 30 episodes makes much more sense. I am not a fan of 50 episode dramas. Universally, except for Glorious Days, Every one just beats to death the same garbage over and over until it's like whatever...another episode of the same old same old. I am with you on the oddly addictive part. BSB is the draw...his intensity keeps the heart pounding in every scene he is in. Is he or isn't he a bad guy? Is it our bias for the actor that prevents those of us rooting for him from seeing him as the bad person he may be? Or are our instincts correct that there is more to his character than meets the eye? What forces have created him and drive him to be like he is? That desperate love he seems to have for Soon Jin, is it real? It's like we walk this tightrope with him in every episode, wondering which side of the ledge he's going to jump off of. I heard in an interview he said his character makes a quantum shift to the good guy side midway in the drama....which I guess is now now?

I'm finding Soon Jung just bearable now. Hoping we will see a more mature character, but her storyline is just odd. Pil Mo as a love interest? The guy is 40 and looks it, and she is 25 and playing 22. I hope they don't go there and keep him as an uncle type figure. And what's with the sudden addition of a new character with Kim Hyung-Kyu? Not that I'm not thrilled to see more of him, but in a drama already in trouble it seems strange. This thing is all over the place. No matter. I will be very sad if they cancel even more episodes and if the writers are unable to tighten the story. Since we will basically be down to 2 sisters now, I'm guessing they will have less to work on and hopefully will do a good job on the remainder. I hope it is at least equally divided between the 2 sisters, as I'm MUCH more interested in Soon Jin than Soon Jung.

Love this drama. Every episode flies by in the seeming blink of an eye. In other words, there is NEVER a dull or wasted moment in this show. Don't take your eyes off of it or you may miss a crucial piece of information. I love how In Yub's ex-fiance/husband continues to fight to save her. It is such a refreshing change from most dramas where they either turn into creeps or just give up. I fear his battle will end with him being killed though. On the other side of the coin, if she proves her father innocent of the charges, her status will be reinstated and they could get back together. What are the chances of that happening? Also, if she stays a servant, will Moo Myeong ever have enough strength of will to fight for her as his mate. We are now at the halfway point. I hope the tension continues and we don't see a lot of filler. There is still so much story to cover! I can't wait to see how this ends.

As to that last ball of yarn and the note...help me out with your opinions. Who is the short muscular girl with the long ponytail? It appears she is pulling out the book Cheon-gi was reading about how to hide symptoms of depression so that your loved ones won't worry about you and so those who are tormenting you will not know they are succeeding. The note seems to congratulate the reader for successfully pulling through, as it wasn't that bad after all. Did she hope to read that note to herself one day, or leave it for someone else who hopefully will? Do you recognize the girl? It's not her sister. Her sister was much taller and not so stocky.
