I think it's cute and fun! i love tongue-in-cheek meta with my tropes and i loved when FL was like "wait, there can't be two guys from the same gang in red" for ex. plus i don't mind the dubbing, it's a little over the top but that fits the show's overall tone to me. looking forward to more eps!

Title War of Faith
the ending was more or less as i expected.i am not happy with the communist party propaganda, that they are always…
you're right and you should say it, this show is FULL of queer subtext (Xu Nao seems to be a middle-aged queer man living his best bachelor life, you can VERY easily read Tunan as having a full-blown mid-life queer awakening over Ruolai, and even Qiaosong has a homoerotic obsession with his underling). The chemistry between Ruolai and Tunan is off the charts, and "they're just mentor and mentee" doesn't really come close to explaining it. Yibo definitely has chemistry with everyone, sure, but not every show has as much scripted eyefucking with the other ML as this one does.
