This just isnt true. It's not that deep to use a VPN so long as you're not doing anything crazy. In the cdrama "A Beautiful Lie" which had to pass censors one of the characters uses a social media which is unavailable in China without a VPN.

I was scared of the same thing happening but the female lead is actually smart (she got into the top class alongside the male lead) and she stands on business (there's a misunderstanding between them that makes her give him the cold shoulder so she's not the 'I'll forgive everything the ml does and abandon my own dignity' type)

Her character was the only reason I continued watching the mess that was only for love. I have high hopes for this diva!
