the issue with the sml isn't that he rejected her out of insecurity - he has no obligation to date her/accept the confession. the issue is his insecurities led him to make mean, judgemental comments and attack her character/confidence just like rong (who interestingly enough no one seems to sympathise with...). his actions are explainable and I do think he has the potential to grow and become a better person but they definitely aren't justified and he deserves to feel the regret and shame he's feeling now.

idol dramas aren't representative of all or even most cdramas. imagine if kdramas were judged based off of shows like 'love revolution' and 'my girlfriend is the man' which are just opportunities for idols/rookies to get acting experience? that would be unfair so why judge cdramas unfairly?

this is a very recent development. in the past women were reduced to accessories in male led stories and even now they make female characters in romances incompetent, love obsessed and weak to uplift the male lead and make it clear she "needs" a man and isn't whole without one.

literallyy I came from an article and the plot seemed so interesting but then I saw him and I'm not sure I'll watch now. I don't think he's a bad actor actually but when it comes to romance or any sort of first love thing he falls very very flat in my opinion.
