For novel readers. is the drama drastically different from its source material? I kind of want to read it since the drama editing and ending left a lot to be desired but if it was drastically changed, then I probably won't.
It seems as if the communication was lost between Min Woo and Hari. They obviously both liked each other yet never tread past the line of friendship. While the missed time is forlorn due to the "what could've been"..it isn't right that Min Woo dated/is dating yet is becoming jealous at the thought that Hari could be dating as well. And just the way he was unintentionally insulting her to Tae Moo when he was questioning why Tae Moo was "dating a girl like Hari" was such a figurative slap in the face. How can he like Hari yet speak of her in such low terms in front of her "boyfriend."
Oh wow glad they didn't drag the misunderstanding between the second leads!!! Good job drama. Also, I love how…
The smartest thing k-dramas on Netflix has done is shorten their length. This drama is fluff so it really doesn't have enough to stretch to 16 episodes.
Well I still wish that the makers should have followed the original novel rather than changing it... But I will…
In the trailer it looks like he jumped after her when willingly fell into the void. Was his human incarnation undergoing a heavenly trial or something?
Only if they have a happy ending. A beautiful story is wasted if the ending is sad. Like I canβt finish destiny…
When I watch Xianxia dramas, I stubbornly expect a happy ending lol It has the help of magic, eternal life, and reincarnation. Basically 3 crutches that help the genre make a happy ending possible despite all odds.
Well the book has two parts... But only the first part is translated in English... The first part is tragedy...…
I'm willing to bet that the drama ending was changed to make Cheng Yi's character the endgame. It's H&R so I highly doubt they would've casted Cheng Yi otherwise.

Do you mind spoiler what the major conflict between the leads was? What was transpired or what misunderstanding happened to cause them to separate the first time?

I think that depends on the story. Take Goodbye My Princess; romantically, there couldn't be a happy ending. If it makes sense within the narrative then sad endings can be beautiful.
For readers of the novel: Are you hoping they follow the book faithfully? Or are you anticipating creativity differences? I've heard the novel doesn't have a happy ending so I'm curious since I'm hoping the drama does.
It's a very sad ending in the novel.... Ying Yuan was a bit late to save Yan Dan and she kills herself...πππ
Well, then hopefully they change the ending otherwise that would be far too sad. It always hurts more to know how much they went through only for all their suffering to have been fruitless...
Yes, he's been living a tormented & miserable life that none would understand, and to see how he's been self blaming…
I was trying to reconcile the ages of the male lead and female lead since the female lead is obviously much younger than Qi Yan is. And honestly, her youth may be the best thing in terms of looking at the situation from an outsider's perspective; only because at the time of the coup, she was too young so she wasn't burdened with all the crap that went down.
This makes her the best one to be his trusted person because she doesn't carry the prejudice that everyone else who survived through the coup have against him.

Thanks for the info! I'm super curious since it's Cheng Yi but it doesn't seem like a novel I would read.
