Agree, and I believe this is also because the final cut went from 32 episodes to 29 after the censorship review.…
I didn’t know that, but it makes a lot of sense now. Some things were never really clarified on screen; it felt like certain plot points were either ignored or only explained behind the scenes. One example is one of the last scenes, when he talks to his grandfather and already knows he was the one who chased the FL away. That just confused me—I would’ve liked to actually see him find that out.
Just finished it, and I have to say I absolutely loved this couple. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I really enjoyed how mature their relationship was—that’s exactly the kind of romance I love.
At first, I was a bit worried that the school years would drag on for too long, but they actually ended up being my favorite part of the drama. From around episode 20 onward, though, the pacing felt a little rushed. I think some storylines could have been explored more slowly and wrapped up more neatly, but that’s just my opinion. It felt like the focus shifted more toward uncovering the truth behind her father’s case than further developing the romance.
Other than that, it was a fantastic drama and definitely one of the best modern Chinese dramas I’ve watched so far.
I’ve seen a lot of comments saying that the show lost its charm from episode 10 onwards, but I completely disagree. In fact, I enjoyed the later episodes the most. This couple has easily made it into my top 10.
I loved both the male and female leads. The male lead was incredibly endearing, and what I appreciated most about the female lead was that she wasn’t afraid to stand up for him or openly show her love and support. That’s something I really value, especially since female leads in many dramas tend to be more passive compared to their male counterparts.
Overall, this drama was a wonderful surprise. I went in with very low expectations and ended up loving it far more than I expected. A solid 9/10 from me.
I hate it when non horror fans watch a show. As a horror fan this show was amazing in all aspects. Predictable,…
I have to agree! I really enjoyed the whole show, it kept me on my toes for sure. I gave it a 8.5 and it was well deserved. Additionally I give the production team my praises, the horror scenes were well portrayed.
Am I the only one who didn't really enjoyed the romance between the king and Wei Ying Luo? They had zero chemistry (my opinion) and the whole relationship was filled with lies and schemes. And from one moment to another after she got her revenge and she suddenly remembers that she does like him?! Makes no sense. I prefered her with Fu Heng...
What a show! It's certainly not always easy to watch certain scenes but I loved the whole script. It is very deep and covers the abusiv topic in a more raw and unconventional way than most of other similar shows.
I didn't dislike the ending, but the death of the male lead didn't make any sense. He just dies offscreen without much content... I liked the character development of the husband but he committed to many crimes, so I was experting either his death or going to prison. The writers chose to give him an epic tragic ending, which I didn't hate.
I couldn’t get warm with the actor of ML, but I still found the plot interesting and liked the FL, so I kept…
I completely agree! I just finished the drama, and in the last 4–5 episodes I started to question why the female lead suddenly felt like a completely different person. It didn’t make sense for someone like her to start chasing a man just to make him realize he loved her.
His reaction to her confession also confused me. Throughout most of the show, he protected her and clearly showed his feelings — and then suddenly he’s unsure whether he even loves her? It felt inconsistent with his character.
Honestly, if it weren’t for the last episodes, I would have loved the show.
