I agree, Chinese actresses must have so much competition with their huge population and all that they have to…
The national pride issue... I can see how others might see it as a North vs. South situation (The North is a literally a dictatorship where citizens have zero freedom) but it's completely different from the China vs. the rest of the world motto they implement in their publicized works. OF COURSE a country would be proud of their achievements, especially countries that are young and thriving. However, I just wanted to point out that a lot of Western Cdrama watchers can see how adamant their "China represents the top of the world" mentality as opposed to an American viewpoint. This is probably why you have seen such comments before, as have I, hence the comment. America is in fact the strongest nation in the world (though as an American myself I can attest to the many MANY economic and social issues prevalent today, but that conversation would take too long) and even though this is a fact, the media here does not portray "we have to win this for America" or "show the world we are the best" in every single show-- even the shows you gave examples of are war shows, so a very specific genre, and even they don't portray such a nationalistic view.
I can see how I might seem to discriminate based on my comments, and I acknowledge that no person will ever have a completely unbiased perspective. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to devalue China's worth whether it's in terms of media production or anything. I have Chinese relatives as well as friends. I respect some of their practices just like how I disagree with some other values. I was pointing out a few things that I find can be misleading to a greater audience, not necessarily something I detest since I do acknowledge China has different political views with a lot of the rest of the world. Thank you for the response, as it gives me a chance to organize some thoughts into a mature conversation.
So for Thai dramas, do they always do the trailer/teaser filming AND the promotional press before they start filming? I find this fascinating for some weird reason. I heard about filming the trailer beforehand to gather interest before they actually start filming because of the situation with Beauty Newbie cast change and that really got me interested in how that really works.
I saw some sort of press thing for this drama but at the same event Dew was also promoting another project (I think) so was that like a beginning of the year thing for media companies to get the public interested?
After watching my first Thai drama F4Thailand, I knew I had to watch this to get the interactions we deserve from our lead actors. Episode 1 was definitely good-- I really like how the genre is SO different from anything I've watched before. It has the horror element a little along with mystery and thrill. It seems like there will be a romance, since he's not actually a teacher and with the ep1 ending they'll have to stick together... I don't need romance to be the main but I do really hope we get something, anything really (a hug, holding hands, idk!). I'm watching so many Korean shows atm but they're all mid and this one really has me fixed. Some scenes were a TAD slow because of the silence and repetitiveness, but still good. Fingers crossed they are able to fit in everything in 4 episodes! Man he is hot.
Hong Ji Yoon? If you mean her at least: https://imgur.com/VWVvAzI
Lol yeah I just realized it’s her— I’m surprised you recognized! But is it someone who looks like her? There’s no record of it being her :/ so I’m not sure
This might be a long shot but does anyone know who the celebrity dressed in white at the Balmain show is (ep 7)? She’s from a drama but I just can’t place her name with her face! She has the gold hoops… and her name isn’t on the cast list anywhere :(
Overall, the drama so far is okay. I only really watch scenes with the leads so for me it's an easy watch. I will say I hoped they had better professional accuracy regarding the medical and firefighters' aspects, but maybe my hopes are just too high from all the great medical Kdramas. And also I guess this isn't considered a med drama :/ Anyways, I really love the leads... hope to see some initiation in the relationship by SOMEONE it's been too long with nothing big happening.
I would have loved this had it not been for Bright. His acting is terrible! And every piece of content I’ve…
Hahaha while I agree that his acting was not good, it didn't stop me from watching HAHA Probably my favorite version of the manga! (I watched Korean, Chinese, Thai)
SO this is the only Thai drama I've ever watched. I'm looking for another one so I can get more comfortable with their speech (main reason why I never watched). I am currently waiting for Enigma, Faceless Love, and Beauty Newbie. However, when I try searching all the results are bl dramas which are not really my style. Any suggestions? Or are they just starting to get good mainstream genres in Thai media?
By genre if you mean lovey-dovey romance, then yes. You Are My Glory was a bit more mature (they're 30 whereas here they're in the 15-25 age range throughout the drama) but both have the giggly sweet moments. I'm glad you like it so far :)
You know there was quite a big controversy after someone critiques showing a minor develop romantic feelings towards…
... I'm sorry what... in the comment section? They're only a few years apart though. He is not old at all what are they saying. I'm supportive of most criticism as long as it's constructive and well-mannered but plain rudeness should not be tolerated. Period.
CONGRATS what an excellent choice hahaha. What was your first?
thanks hahaha I'm trying to broaden my horizon in a sense. I think I'll just stick to Kdramas first because it's my native tongue, and then Cdramas since I'm so used to them, and then ease my way into more Thai dramas. I'm actually waiting for Beauty Newbie, Enigma, and Faceless Love to air. But that's it, just the three countries lol

Who are you searching for? Is it the same drama?
But is it someone who looks like her? There’s no record of it being her :/ so I’m not sure
