I used to hate this kinda of genre, villainess mc that went back to the past. Because usually this kind of genre is really shallow with MC become OP and know everything. No one around MC going to question anything, everything so self serve and really indulge in revenge porn. It is Mary Sue's in disguise.

But this drama really tight, JXN doing some maneuver, everyone realize her and guard up. Whatever she do, it become butterfly effect. You don't know what will happen, JXN also as clueless when butterfly effect start happening.

She also director of The Long Ballad, The Blue Whisper and The Starry Love. She created all worth watching dramas. The next Bailu drama, Chasing The Moon also with her.

That's the most realistic scenario if people can back to the past with current memory.

XW fall for her during exile so he liked her in first life. But in first life, both of them had their own ambition and their romance had zero chance to growth.

I think you just not appreciate slow burn drama if you hate characters talking. It is palace drama, what do you expect? Summoning a dragon?? About some character being black and white, the story always needs one. You can't have every characters become grey, morally grey characters stands out if a thing around them is black and white. Both Ning and XW are morally characters as best. They are not hero for sure.

Even Game of Thrones which had so many grey characters but they still have an ultimate baddie which is Night King. Antagonist always needed.

He remember thus her promise to him to become good become full circle.

You know it is a good drama when 16 ep feels so fast and you want more. Lost You Forever also was like this. No single boring character.

I like this format, it is more suspenful. Linear storyline from first timeline to second will be boring.
