I don't want to compare but I watched the 1st episode of OFL last night and couldn't get into the business talk. RWTW set the bar too high even if I don't understand the business lingo lol. It made me miss Xu SI and Jiang Hu even more.

LMAO!! Not the Thai Lakorns. I totally agree. Some lakorns have the most toxic ML ever. I've watched lakorns my whole life and I've seen enough to concur it's a reoccurring trope.

Yes, I'm ok with how they're platonic and clearly business partners. In the beginning, I was just worried they'd have her as the old flame trying to come back or something but it's not. I can't wait for Sunday too.

Yes! It truly does feel like it could be a biography. The rich in-depth characters propel the story to be captivating around this business concept.

The white suit he so proudly flashes around. He does stand out in it. 😍Oh yeah! Her art is so intricate. Despite the companies saying her art is too old style, I love it!.

This! I enjoy seeing these characters who are distinct and fleshed out. You can tell how the writer carefully examined each character to fit with the message of this story. I already feel like I'll be having a hard time to move on.

The pacing of this show has been amazing. In other modern romance dramas, I would've felt some drag by now. The storytelling is consistent (so far). It carefully balances between business/love without one overshadowing the other. Hence the engagement we're eagerly looking forward too. It is slow burn but with a realistic approach/ purpose. In my opinion, These main characters are flawed in their own ways. The main focus is seeing their growth and how they will come up to "Rise against the wind". I'm all for growth! 👏
The relevant characters. There's no random annoying side character that's been placed to just move the plot forward.

The screenwriter is the same one from "You Are My Hero". I love her writing style for these mature characters in both shows. Not that this matters, but according to the profile charts, Xu Si is 32, Yang Jian is 31 and JH plus ZY are 26. I was worried seeing Xu Si work with his ex thinking it might be the same drama tropes; however he's made it clear. They're nothing more than platonic business partners. And she doesn't seem to be trying to flicker any old flames. I can respect that.

I'm excited to see the second half of the show. The dating era of our leads and how they will bounce back from the angst. I have a feeling we'll be getting frustrated but also understand the motives behind the characters actions. It's fun to analyze and converse on morally grey characters like Xu Si.

No new episodes today but I can't believe we've reached the halfway mark. Let's share some thoughts together to pass time guys! 😁

What are some small details you guys have been enjoying from the show?

As for me, it's the cactus (my obsession next to our main CP lol).
The milk tea with double sugar which Xu Si orders when he's in a bad mood.
The references to the "Wind". (This might have to be a thread on its own) I love me some good metaphors.
Xu Si's cute PJ's. lol In an earlier episode, he wore a dark set with dogs. In ep.19 he wore a green set with foxes on them. I would love to get a set haha.

Yes to that failure answer from Jiang Hu! Such an inspiring message. She delivered it with such class. 👏
YJ looked like a big kid in the bath tub. So adorable with the rubber ducks lol. I can't believe he ran like no tomorrow just like that. ZY has found her a good one. He even cooks amazing food for her. I'm blindly shipping all the couples at this point lol.

Thanks for this! Jiang Hu's hesitation is valid. See, that's why I found it ironic he had told her about being sincere when wooing a girl. Yes, I do agree he is being sincere by helping her but in the beginning it was a different story.

Yupp! I'll be rooting for them too. I understand her reasoning. It's an experience hard to bounce back from. I like that they're making this realistic having her hesitate.

I absolutely loved the dance scene. It had such a magical charm/ambience. Despite the rejections, Xu Si's still hopeful. Can't wait for their dating era. 😁

Great analyzation Annie! I absolutely love the dance scene. JH's mind says one thing but her body says another. Poor Xu Si getting those mixed signals. Well at least she apologized for any misleading actions.

Great points you make! I just found it ironic that Xu Si was talking about sincerity when in the beginning they made his actions come off as insincere. He definitely has improved and I think it's great he's tuning into his emotions. I understand his frustrations. He's good at setting a clear line for business/personal matters but it'll just take JH time.
